When we moved into Carol Ann's, it seemed a good fit for my mother in law who enjoyed the activities that Carol's daughter provided and Carol herself played a large role in the oversight of the place. Since then, things have changed and what was once a facility that was a quiet and peaceful place has turned into utter mayhem. Last Sunday while we were visiting, we were approached by 3 of the female residents who let us know that they were being sexually assaulted by the aggressive men who had recently moved in to the facility. Our mom was trembling and crying. We were in utter shock and reached out to the owner, Carol Ann letting her know that the female residents let us know, as well as her staff member who also let us know that she , too had also been hit in the face from this resident. The smaller staff member was trying to get the manager on the phone and. said she was not able to make contact with her. We did receive a call from Elizabeth, who is Carol Ann's mouthpiece for any situation that the owner does not want to handle. Elizabeth explained that she knew there were problems, but that the person was getting a psyche eval and she would handle. The hospice company made visits, as did we and within the next two days, yet another man had been added to the mix and the constant screaming continued. The hospice manager sought emergency evacuation respite order for our mom and moved her out to a safe environment for 5 nights to allow Carol Ann's to get things under control and address the problem. We again reached out twice to Carol Ann without response, but did hear from Elizabeth who said that we needed to "deal with it" as these people have dementia." In the state of Texas Elderly residents have a very clear set of rights and the places that they live, especially licensed care homes are required by law to abide to protect patients from any type of mental or physical abuse, neglect and any type of concern. We are brokenhearted by the entire situation and the fact that we have paid Carol Ann more than $300,000 in care expenses to be treated this way and to have them care more abou the almighty dollar than the care of any of their residents crying out for help. I would like to also add that Carol Ann has directly been contacted repeatedly and not offered any reply to us, the Hospice company, or to the Ombudsman who has tried to work out the situation on our behalf. It has now been 6 days and our things are still there in the room. Within 15 minutes of posting on Google, Carol Ann shows up to reply, but has never had the time or inclination to correct the issue, nor let anyone know, and has now decided that we are moving out, since she was paid for the month the very day the first of these occurrences happened. We have been patient, kind and gone about things in the appropriate manner. It is nearly impossible to imagine that they are saddened by the situation, as she has not responded at all. She has not offered to move the other resident or perhaps have them taken to a respite facility to address the issue. Instead, she chooses to punish the very people who have been the longest standing residents who have been recommending her facility. This makes no sense. During the 2 hospice visits this week, the hospice workers witnessed the very activity we were concerned about. The staff and the residents came to us, not us going to them. If the owner truly cares about her residents and her reputation, she would arrange for a solution, or at the very least a refund of the month that was paid beginning on the very day these events began. All of our mom's things are still in her room. It is truly shameful to have this happen to a resident on Hospice care with Parkinson's and Dementia. Carol Ann, you know better. Please use your integrity.

My family was blessed to find Carol Ann's Home for my mom's care. The staff is compassionate and caring, they become like family. We can not say enough about the great care our mother received. We highly recommend Carol Ann's to anyone who asks.

Our very special loved one has resided at the Hilton Head location since 2018. We've been very pleased with her care. We were referred to this home by another local assisted living home owner that thought this was a better fit for our family. She was right. Our loved one is at a home, not at a facility. She's home.

After disastrous experiences at other facilities, we found the brand-new Carol Ann’s Home on Wayward (her 3rd location) in July 2017. It was the breath of fresh air we needed. They specialize in Memory Care and for almost 4 years it was Mother’s home. Carol and her manager, Elizabeth are great at their business. They with their staff take the time to learn each resident’s history, likes and dislikes, and things that make them comfortable. The house is nicely furnished and cheery. The residents’ rooms are kept clean and fresh. The meals are excellent and prepared by the professional chef. Individual preferences are accommodated. There are activities to enjoy even during Covid. The staff polishes nails, plays movies and music, has bingo games and helps with art projects. Pre covid and hopefully soon again there were animal visits, musicians, exercise classes, and other entertainers. We are ever grateful to Carol Ann’s Home and recommend them whole-heartedly.
