Having to make the difficult decision to move my husband to assisted living accommodations, ALL the staff made him feel welcomed from the very beginning. Carteret House offered cost effective excellent care while helping smooth the transition.

my father has been here since the beginning of Dec 2022, the woman who enters any resident medications and doctor orders is clueless, i have been told many many untrue things, they will not follow doctors orders and i was even told they cannot manually take blood pressure!! im looking into removing my Dad from this facility, he likes the med techs, and the other residents, but he is not being cared for properly, and his medications are in a constant state of confusion 🤬 the state need to step in and audit this place , i feel sorry for all the residents that cannot advocate for themselves, or have no one to oversee that their medications and care is being properly administered

I have to say how disappointed I am with this place. I stopped in to visit with someone and not only was the roommate handed medication that wasn’t theirs but the level of uncaring behavior was just awful. I walked by a cart on my way to the bathroom that was left alone and it had what looked like medication of some sort just laying out for anyone to grab if they wanted to!! What if a kid had walked by and grabbed it? Even if it wasn’t anything but aspirin. I worked in a nursing home many years ago and even back then it wasn’t okay to leave medicine out unattended. And maybe the aides could take it down a little bit when they are chatting with each other. I thought I was in an episode of Days of Our Lives at one point.

I gave CH 4 stars because as good as something is, nothing is ever perfect, though since January of 2021, it has come closer than it’s ever been since my mother became a resident there in May of 2017. Mom recently passed away after spending the last 5 years of her life in this facility. As a frequent visitor, I experienced firsthand the many ups and downs that took place until the facility ultimately fell into complete disarray and filth due to poor management. This went undetected for quite awhile as the result of the shutdown of visitation during Covid.it was pitiful. Since that time, the facility came under the management of Melissa Arnold, who along with her staff, has turned things around in a very short period of time. The facility is now clean, fully staffed and the residents are respected and well cared for. When mom went on the hospice protocol, they went above and beyond. They were attentive, empathetic, respectful and accommodating to both my mother and myself. I have no problem recommending this facility so long as Melissa is the ED! For the record I would have given Carteret House 4.5 stars if it were possible!

My wife and I recently visited a friend who is now a resident at Carteret House and were pleasantly surprised at the agreeable surroundings and ambiance . It appeared to be exceptionally clean and well maintained. Our friend's room was spacious and well appointed. The common areas were nicely furnished and welcoming. The residents whom we encountered all seemed to be happy and content. We would not hesitate to recommend Carteret House to anyone.
