Charleston Senior Community (the)

Front desk extremely kind and efficient. Food is good but the menu is difficult to fill out. We had an issue with cash taken from Dad’s wallet. He no longer keeps cash unless it is on his person. Management has been responsive to concerns voiced. A nice play to retire but OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for what is offered.

The Charleston Senior Community, in Waldorf, Maryland hosted a Family Night - Bingo Bonanza on Friday, August 29, 2025. It was a well attended event, which gave family and friends of the residents, an opportunity to gather and have fun. The event included a delicious meal, wonderful prizes, and a lot of fun! Last night we went to a totally free (for us) activity: a dinner and bingo night with some real prizes. The food was outstanding, fresh, homemade, and there was a variety to choose from. The emcee for the bingo made us laugh and was entertaining, and plenty of staff members circulated among us to answer any questions. It was a well-run, family event that brought generations together. My mother has lived there for nine years and it is hands-down the best value for the money. We are just glad to know she receives continuous care and monitoring for her meds and doctor appointments, has made friends, and has plenty to do.

Although h we ultimately chose another community for financial reasons, ai felt it was important to leave a review because of the exceptional experience we had. We toured the place and it was even more impressive— just beautiful facility, warm environment, and a genuine sense of care from everyone we met. While we weren’t able to move forward due to budget constraints of our own, The Charleston left a lasting impression on our entire family. We are so grateful for the compassion and professionalism that e received, and would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone exploring options for their loved one. Thank you again for everything.

My mother was at The Charleston for only about a month and a half. She was at the highest level of care due to colon cancer. The director Toni was one of the sweetest most knowledgeable people I have come across during this journey. She was so comforting and compassionate. She made the move so much easier. Every single staff member was outstanding, compassionate, and so helpful. I would recommend this place to whoever needs care. I was very satisfied with my mother's care and how they still were very nice and helpful after Mom passed. Don't know what I would have done with The Charleston ❤️
