I have a lot of experience in this career field and a few of thoes years I worked at Chileda. In my experience, staff safety was a serious concern — I was injured frequently, sometimes every couple of days, and the work caused me significant stress and emotional trauma. Management often ignored or misrepresented concerns. Based on what I personally witnessed. I would NOT recommend this school/facility to families, and personally I would never enroll a loved one there. I also would not work there again if my life depended on it.

Best place if you have autistic child.

Very difficult administration to work with. The don't seem interested in helping the children with difficult issues.

Chileda accepted my niece into their program, fully aware of all of her issues, then one week later changed their mind. This decision has had a disruptive ripple effect. My niece is in desperate need of help. Although it was heartbreaking to send her hours from home we were grateful that she would finally get the help she needs. How disheartening to discover that this place is not what we thought it was. I am glad we found out about the lack of caring and compassion before we sent her there. Very disappointing.

Informed my friend’s family that their child was being accepted into their program and just prior to the admission changed their mind. Now the child has lost their spot not only in the residential facility, but also in their school as the family had informed the school that their child was being placed. . They failed and did harm to this child and family.
