My father has dementia and has been in this facility for a while now. He was in previous facilities that he felt were too big, and with his memory issues, he would get lost, more confused, and terrified. This facility has been much more like his simple home, rather quaint, and with things closer by for his comfort level in the room. The staff has been phenomenal with how they treat my father with respect and care while giving him the freedom to make choices in his last years of life. Dad has begun making friends and opening up some, which is not like him; he's such an introvert. The leadership of the facility always tries to help where they can to make transitions as smooth as possible, and goes the extra mile to do little things, such as help me to find a way from out of town to get a little cash for my dad to grab comfort snacks and items at Walmart when they go for him. The staff has always been efficient and kind to our family. The cost is reasonable, although all elder care is expensive. This facility is more cost-efficient for our family. Dad doesn't always enjoy the food, but some days he calls me letting me know he really enjoyed the meal and he wished they served "that meal" every day. He's happy. That is what is most important.
