Over a period of years, I have had friends at Claremont Retirement Village. I always look forward to visiting Claremont because it is such a welcoming relaxed destination. Also, in the past I have had other friends at other retirement centers around the Columbus area. Overall, the residents at Claremont have been much more pleased with the facility than those at others that are much more expensive. The entire facility is on one floor and there are no inconvenient and unreliable elevators necessary. Each apartment has interior hallway access for the entire facility and each one also has a same-level screened in outdoor patio. There is a sense of community and camaraderie there among the residents. Many of them casually meet in the dining room and play cards, or just sit and chat. The dining room food choices have good variety and good quality. Claremont is not a fancy hotel, but is clean and well maintained. It has a sense of casual comfort and friendly socialization. The staff is very caring and comforting. The dining room service is excellent with very friendly servers who are always available and ready for resident requests. There are always several activities available, usually in the dining room area. These include theme days and musical performances among other attractions. Special services are generally available for such things as physical therapy and hair care, just to name two. Many of the residents have their own automobiles with plenty of parking for residents and visitors. There is a small general store on site along with a postal facility there is good security and areas for assisted living and memory services. The sales staff is knowledgeable, and helpful. I believe the strongest attraction of Claremont is its social resort style atmosphere and the convenience of single level living with screened-in patios for every unit.

I cannot say enough positive things about Claremont Retirement Village. My sister urgently needed to find an alternative to living on her own, and Debi (marketing director) was so instrumental in making a move happen asap. The initial tour was an easy sell: all the residents my sister met were friendly, welcoming, encouraging, and saying how much they enjoyed living there. The staff learned our names right away and greets us by name, offering to help in any way they can. The accommodations are clean, updated, and well-equipped to meet the needs most elderly residents would need. The dining room is a wonderful meeting place, the food is very good and portions are generous, and the cost is incredibly reasonable. The units have a lovely screened in porch for some fresh air, the resident controls the temperature in the apartment (my sister loves to be warm!), and it's very quiet. So many activities to try out (My sister has watched a movie, a football game, enjoyed several outings, met so many new friends, listened to a piano player in the common area). I would highly recommend CRV without hesitation.

After taking mom to The Claremont for dinner a couple of times to get a feel for it, we moved her there in November 2019, and simply could not have made a better choice! Like almost any senior struggling to live on her own, she was not in favor of moving, but she loved the activities and quickly made lots of new friends. Her one bedroom independent living apartment is fantastic, complete with her own screened in patio. The food continues to impress as well. Mom has since gone through hip surgery and is almost finished with rehab, and with dramatically declining memory, we will be moving her into memory care in the same building. I can't imagine a home for seniors having a more caring and helpful staff than The Claremont! The attention and caring we receive has been second to none. They've done extremely well keeping COVID-19 out of the building and we feel very safe having mom there. They are a little less expensive than similar facilities, but don't let that fool you. We looked at a lot of places, and have friends who've had parents both at Claremont and other facilities, and Claremont competes very well on all important factors. It doesn't feel like a senior facility; it feels like home. We feel like family there, and continue to believe it's the best place for mom.
