Coastal Pointe

For our family it meant everything-to choose a memory care home that truly felt like home for our Oma. We have found “home“ at Coastal Pointe; from the first visit, during the admission process and then on moving day and after - the staff has been friendly, attentive and have shown the qualities that we were looking for. The transition for her has been seamless & she truly feels at home. The environment is inviting and warm, the culture is friendly and accepting. Coastal Pointe has been very good to my dad. They keep me informed regarding his health and medications. The staff seem very attentive to the care of the patients.

We cared for my mother-in-law for 10 years in our home and at age 96 realized we needed a team. We researched many memory care homes and choose Coastal Pointe in Shallotte. Our welcome there was so sweet and sincere with all of the staff coming up to introduce themselves to her and show her around. Her room was spacious with large windows overlooking some woods. The living areas were decorated bright and cheery, decorated for fall and already had their Christmas tree up. Staff were in the open kitchen baking applesauce cinnamon cutout ornaments with residents to decorate the tree (safe in case a resident accidentally ate one). When we visited the next day, they had taken her the night before to a live music event at the assisted living side, enjoyed "happy hour" (cookies and sweets), she had watched a Hallmark movie with residents in their cozy living area, and she had been given a hot bath and had her hair washed. Having just come from a hospital visit and rehab stay where care and staff interaction was minimal and (mostly) indifferent, it was such a welcome change! I was finally able to relax and sleep knowing they used a bed alarm to alert staff if she tried to get up in the middle of the night. Though her stay was short it was comforting to know in her final days she was pampered, attended to, loved on and treated with dignity and respect. Highly recommend!

Four months ago, me and my sister placed our parents at Coastal Pointe . We are VERY HAPPY with the care and attention they are receiving — it has been above and beyond. To say, CP has been a BLESSING for us and our parents is an understatement. From the first visit/tour of CP with Stephanie Thorsen to the daily contact we have with staff — whether it be front office staff, nurses, CNAs, kitchen, laundry, housekeeping or maintenance , the interaction has ALWAYS been pleasant, courteous and helpful. The facility is bright and cheerful and nicely decorated. The courtyard is so inviting with its landscaping, rocking chairs, bird feeders, wind chime and water fountain — allowing the residents to connect and enjoy each other while enjoying nature . We cannot say how much we appreciate what CP has to offer and all the attention that goes into taking care of our parents. We would definitely recommend Coastal Pointe to anyone in need of assisted living and memory care for their family.

We moved our Mom into Coastal Pointe in July of 2020. We were nervous, due to the pandemic, but she was at a point where she needed 24 hour care and supervision. The administration and staff have been extremely attentive to Mom and all of our calls, texts, emails, etc. This pandemic has caused more stress and rules for families and assisted living facilities. Coastal Pointe has been stellar with their attention to guidelines and done a great job working with families to maintain some sort of contact with our loved ones. We love the room layouts, great meals and attention to individual needs and we feel very supported by all aspects of care, from administration to Directors, Nurses, housekeeping and maintenance. Midge (kitchen) has been great with adjustments to Mom's meals and serving needs. I applaud Coastal Pointe for their work during an even more trying year of opening and can highly recommend this facility for your loved one. We have a very high bar for our Mom and have been pleased at how well it has been met.
