Absolutely disgusting facility. From the moment you walk in, the place reeks of dirty, urine-soaked diapers. There is no excuse for a nursing home to smell like this. The building is falling apart, rotten walls, filthy rooms, and an obvious roach infestation. The floors are beyond dirty and look like they haven’t been properly mopped in decades. This is NOT a safe or humane living environment for elderly residents. What’s even more alarming is the lack of care and supervision. Residents who clearly cannot walk or care for themselves are left alone in their rooms, putting them at serious risk of injury. This is neglect, plain and simple. This place needs to be investigated immediately. The people living here deserve dignity, cleanliness, and proper care, not this level of filth and disregard.

Unacceptable Conditions and Unprofessional Leadership I give this place 0/5 stars! My family’s experience with The Colony Club has been deeply upsetting and traumatizing. My grandmother, who has Alzheimer’s Disease, is a current resident in the memory care unit—and what we’ve witnessed amounts to clear neglect and unsanitary conditions. She was found with her hair completely matted to her scalp, and later diagnosed with scabies, which she did not have prior to admission. The memory care unit also has a visible roach infestation, which the Executive Director even acknowledged, but has taken no meaningful steps to resolve. When we attempted to submit a 30-day discharge notice to move her to a safer facility, the Executive Director, Gayle Mackenzie, refused to acknowledge it—delaying the process and acting with blatant disregard for our legal rights and our loved one’s well-being. What’s worse, her conduct has been unprofessional and offensive. Instead of taking accountability for the outbreak, she blamed family visitors for my grandmother’s condition. When I, a licensed nurse practitioner, advocated for my grandmother, she labeled me “aggressive” and accused me of “playing the race card.” Completely unacceptable. This facility is failing its most vulnerable residents. If you’re considering placing your loved one here—please think twice. We have filed formal complaints with AHCA and APS. The safety, dignity, and care of memory-impaired residents should never be compromised. -Yvette

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about this senior home. The staff is kind, patient, and truly cares for every resident as if they were family. The environment is always clean, safe, and welcoming, with plenty of activities that keep everyone engaged and happy. Communication with families is excellent, and I always feel reassured knowing my loved one is in such good hands. This place goes above and beyond in every way — highly recommend!”

My Mom has been a Memory Care Resident of Colony Club Sunrise for almost 2 years now. Our experience in regards to her care team effort between our family and staff has been amazing. The staff from Front Desk to the Nursing has been dedicated, loving, and caring towards my Mom. Gleneva at the Front always responds with a positive attitude and keeps us abreast of anything going on and forwards information to applicable staff as necessary. The Nursing Team headed by Ann, is awesome. Memory care has to be one of the most difficult areas to work and they have patience and are always responsive to my Mom's needs when I call or have concerns. They are partnered with a pharmacy program for easy prescription refills and dissemination. The Colony Club has been a blessing and a safe environment for Mom who caters to her daily needs in a manner which we are not personally able to provide for her. We highly recommend this ALF for families in need of assisted living needs.

My mom has lived at The Colony Club for a little over a year now and she loves it! She moved in a few months after the new owners took over and is really pleased with the nursing staff, physical therapists, aides, her room and the activities. I live out of state and have easy access to speaking with the facility administrator, Donna, whenever Mom has a request or concern, and get action and return communication in a timely manner. When I’ve visited The Colony Club, I find the staff warm and genuinely caring about my mom and her health, happiness and vitality. My mom appreciates all the activities (music, dancing, nightly movies, church services, etc) and relaxing while chatting with friends on the gorgeous patio. I am so happy we found such a wonderful and supportive home for Mom.
