COTTAGES OF PORT RICHEY (THE)

I called there to get some information from them. When I called I was greeted by a gentlemen who then turned me over to one of the most rude and disrespectful woman I have every spoke with. Never have I been yelled at like that and hung up on. Tied calling back to see who I spoke with and no one could be of any help. I will never recommend this horrible place to anyone

I'll never forget what happened one week after moving my father into this place. He walked off the property and no one even knew until I called them after the New Port Richey Police dept. called me, asking me where my father lived because he was with one of their police officers. Not just for a few minutes either, my father was gone for HOURS enough to complete a banking transaction. My father had a stroke 2 days later and they called for medical transport. Not 911, but basic medical transport to take him to get checked out. After that, my father could not even return to the facility because now he needed nursing care 24/7. Getting his personal belongings out of the facility was a nightmare, they lost his id, and they still to this day have a music organ on the property I was never able to retrieve. I called several state agencies to report it, but beware; if you place your loved one in an independent living facility, that facility cannot be held responsible if your loved one just walks off the property, because it is "independent" living. I tried to get a hold of the director several times throughout the fiasco and he would never return my calls. I lived more than 3 hours from my father and he could not live in apartment anymore and I thought this was a good option. It was a nightmare as soon as he moved in.

The front desk lady named Melanie is very rude I went in to sign an application and she would not lend me a pen to do my application there and every time I call to ask if they are hiring she is very rude and says if they havent called you dont call here and hangs up... She needs a customer service training with her nasty attitude.. Very rude people.. They are supposed to be professionals.

The Cottages of Port Richey is a warm and welcoming senior living community. Excellent food, above average activities and a caring nursing staff. I would recommend this facility for your loved ones.

Very clean, safe and caring environment. The staff have a real connection with the residents. I would highly recommend Cottages to anyone looking for great care for a loved one!!!
