COURTYARD ASSISTED LIVING (THE)

Unlocked front door, someone I believe to be a resident sitting at the front desk unable to direct me to a resident. Someone in the office who did not identify themselves informed me where the resident may be. Entered the residents room, musty smell as was in the rest of the building. Garbage placed outside the room. Floor covered with sheets, commode buckets, no toilet seat on toilet, shower filthy without a seat, resident reported he couldn't eat, had constant diarrhea, and hadn't been showered in 4 days. Upon leaving his room, someone was tearing up the floor in the hall, no cones or warning for any of the residents returning from the dining room, and I never saw anyone that appeared to be a staff member . This was a respectable establishment 15 years ago. No longer. I would not allow my dog to stay there.

People please listen to me. If you care at all about humans, please do not place anyone in this facility and report it to anyone who will listen. I'm a utility worker and when I entered this facility I was greeted with the smell mixture of urine/smoke/mold/filth. That's all I was greeted by, I looked for any personal for 20min, I checked the disgusting kitchen, the wide open drug room, and even the locked office. Wait I found the outside and out of site smoking. I have never seen such a dirty, hazardous, disgusting facility tasked with caring for our elderly!!!

We were completely misled to believe this facility could care for an elderly dementia parent. Our loved one successfully eloped multiple times before we realized The Courtyard has a problem with their staff keeping doors secure during their numerous smoke breaks. The room was not cleaned regularly and fire/smoke detector were not properly maintained. This is not an indictment of the entire staff. Several of them went above and beyond their duties. This is just a general overview.

The residents are sweet, the workers are amazing❤️

Not sure how well the residents are taken care of inside the facility, but they allow their residents out unattended. Unfortunately this negligence has lead to constant pressure of nearby neighbors to arrange assistance from the facility or even the local police department when the residents get stuck or have issues requiring assistance.
