COURTYARD AT LITTLE CHICO CREEK, THE

Well, this will be a review that I seldom have occasion to write............there is not one aspect of my experience with The Courtyard that I would say "I think they could do a better job with this!" My dear friend rented a studio apartment here for her end-of-life hospice care. The staff worked very closely with the Enloe Hospice team and provided excellent supportive care for my friend. The office staff is personable and efficient, making the paperwork side of things very easy. Each person who came in our room knew about our situation which tells me the communication between staff is very good. Caregivers were very caring and made a point of making sure all family/friends were comfortable as well as the patient. Meals were easily individualized for her and offered in an attractive manner. We were able to bring many things from her home and make the studio a warm, welcoming place to be. Loved ones were able to be with her any time of the day and night............and we were made to feel welcome, not in the way! My friend paid them the highest compliment by stating she felt very safe there. Anytime she called for help she received an immediate response. She was able to die a peaceful death with friends at her side. Many thanks to the team at the Courtyard for making this happen.

I had my dearest friend admitted to Courtyard recently. I was so impressed with their compassionate care. My friend felt at home and comforted. Staff was profesional and very friendly. The total culture of this place comes from the top down. Management, office, caregivers, kitchen, maintenance and house keepers all are doing outstanding jobs. I would rate Courtyard 5+.

The care that was given our Mother was amazing. She felt safe, loved and cared for. The facility was so clean. If someday I needed special care, this is the only place I would want to be. Robert and Carol

This is the best care center in chico, the staff is always warm and welcoming. They take all covid precautions seriously, and the place always smells clean. My grandmother Irma is staying there currently and when we visit her they always accommodate us, even when we show up with no appointment they invite us to lunch or whatever meal is being served. Overall great place with a great and kind staff.

I wanted this place to be a wonderful ending for a life well lived, but sadly "they promised my friend the moon and gave her a paper bag". They would prefer their residents to be high functioning, independent, and quiet. Anything outside of these parameters is considered combative and unacceptable behavior. Most of the caregivers are nice and genuinely concerned about the residents, but for the premium price you are charged, the aides are understaffed and under trained. If you raise specific questions about the level of care your loved one is receiving, management is defensive and it's always the resident's fault. The food is mediocre and often served cold. The maintenance staff is wonderful. The rooms are kept clean. The aides do a good job with laundry and nothing was ever lost. The facility is beautiful and has a great location.
