My husband has been in the Danbury Memory Care unit for nearly a year. I have a very high regard for the people who work at Danbury. They are caring, compassionate, and give individualized care. I have watched them with my husband and with so many others and I witness beautiful moments every day. It is not an easy job to care for those with dementia and other issues. The aides and nurses work very hard and sometimes that work is very challenging, physically and emotionally. I appreciate the various activities, like "Arm Chair Travel" in the theater and the incomparable Scott Steelman leading us in song once a month. The food is very good, the housekeeping is fine and I am blessed that my life partner is so well-cared for. The facility is attractive and they keep it nicely decorated throughout the year. The atmosphere, run mostly by women, is upbeat and pleasant. There are several attractive common rooms where friends and family can gather and/or eat together. There is a hair salon with a mostly-retired (excellent) stylist who does a great job on my husband's hair and beard, very reasonably priced. I took care of my husband for many years and then, when my health and well-being were at risk, I did a lot of research and made a really good decision to go with Danbury on Snouffer Road in north Columbus.

Awesome kindness of everyone we saw. Kim was especially kind and helpful. The residents interacted and all seemed happy.

I was interested in the Danbury but found somewhere else for my loved one. They called and left multiple voicemails reaching out to me. Anyone who is a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer's knows that returning phone calls especially when the service isn't needed is just not high on your priority list. Managing medications, driving to and from appointments , making sure they eat, etc. just somehow take priority over making a phone call. Kim clearly felt I was rude for not returning her calls and let me know that passive aggressively in a voicemail. I did call to officially tell her we weren't interested since it was a problem for her. I hope she speaks to other caregivers and families with more compassion than me.

Dad loves Danbury! We are so fortunate he chose to live here. It's been 7 months and he's still going on about how great the place is. He's very involved in the community and has made new friends. He loves the weekly outings to lunch and the daily activities (especially chair volleyball). Danbury is spacious, clean and welcoming. The staff is so attentive (especially to new residents), friendly and fun. We would highly recommend Danbury to any family looking for independent or assisted living for their loved one.
