Devonshire Retirement Village Specialized Care

The staff has been very responsive to needs of our loved one. They supply great meals, care, a home like experience and personal attention to their residents.

Mom needed a safe place to live and recoup following a month long illness. Have to say we couldn't be happier with the decision to place mom there. She is making friends, enjoying the activities and has become an advocate for them when people are touring the home for their loved ones. Staff has been great and are like family. If you need a safe place for your loved one to happily and safely live, check out Devonshire, Lapeer or any of their facilities. You will be glad you did. We are.

The staff at Devonshire took wonderful care of my mother as she succumbed to cancer. I can't say enough about how kind and considerate they were to her in her final days when my siblings and I could no longer provide appropriate care at home. It was a relief to know that our mother was in good hands, and it allowed our family to spend time reminiscing and enjoying Mom's company while she was still with us. The staff made us feel like family there, and I can't thank them enough.

Devonshire is an amazing facility for the elder. They are very caring and compassionate about their residents. They have and amazing cook who prepares their meals. They have daily activities they do with the residents and I never seen so many smiles on the residents faces as I do at Devonshire. Definitely a place I'm glad to call my loved one home.

Upon first inspection of Devonshire Retirement Village, the outside of the facility looked well kept and was complete with beautiful, flowering trees, an outdoor gazebo with chairs and potted flowers. When I entered the facility, no one greeted me. I had no idea how to get to the client’s room however, I figured out I needed to sign into the facility. There was hand sanitizer which I used. The rooms are quite homey as clients can appoint their rooms with their own personal items. However, we were told there has been some theft occurring at the facility to which I do not know has been resolved. This is quite concerning as it is the facility’s responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their clients. In my humble opinion, the facility should be responsible for the theft of the items. Cameras should be installed to insure the safety of the patients. The patients can use them like ring cameras so there is not a violation of privacy. The personnel was friendly and personable. The food looked appetizing. I am giving this facility 3 stars because I believe it is a nice facility despite the cost of room/board. However, the security of the clients is quite alarming and should be addressed post haste.
