DIVINE LIFE ASSISTED LIVING OF DEWITT 1 INC

My husband became a resident of Divine Living Center at 1177 Solon Rd in DeWitt last fall. Staff did a great job orienting him and making him feel comfortable in his new home, especially because it was so difficult for him at first. He has now been there 5 months and while he still desires to come home (not understanding he has a disease that does not allow for home living), he enjoys his fellow residents and staff. Staff has gone out of their way to accommodate him by allowing him to do things that help him feel needed and productive. He is able to feel good about himself because he has purpose to his day. If you are considering placing a loved one at Solon Rd, I encourage you to do so. Any concerns you have or corrections you need for your family member are listened to and addressed. It may take a few reminders, because as anywhere else, many staff and busy people. Hang in there. You will be heard and what is needed/desired will be addressed. I wish you all the best. A transition of this kind is hard on all family members. I encourage you to speak with staff. They are experienced. You will be listened to, validated and educated.

Divine living centers of Dewitt truly lives up to its name. The staff are compassionate, attentive, and go above and beyond to make every resident feel cared for and valued. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can sense the warmth and professionalism of the team. The facility is always clean, welcoming, and well maintained- it feels more like a home than a care center.

Horrible place!!!! Never again will I leave my parents at that specific facility on Solon Rd building 1. Erin who coordinated the intake made the place sound so great and blatantly lied!! She said my parents would be assisted when needed, and that was not true!! Very unprofessional when I called Erin and she never returned my call. No release form was left for me to sign for medication’s when I picked up my parents today Sunday What’s today Sunday July 13th. I waited there a while until I told Anaya I need to take meds. Anaya was frustrated herself; she tried calling her manager 5 times & no answer!!! Very unprofessional !! Anaya was frustrated which I don’t blame her especially when she had told her manager she needed that form for today Sunday. Anaya had to reach out to another manager who picked up I signed a form that I wrote “I picked up parents script.” Come to find out when I got home all meds were not there that I dropped off & physically handed to Felicia on Wednesday. Communication issue is a big problem!! Managers need to all get on board & on the same page! Thank God I only left them there for 2 weeks to long!!! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVES ONES THERE!!

My sister was there for a few years, my other sister and I would go and clean her room. It smelled so bad we had to open the window. Then the window would not close all the way. Her call light did not work for close to a year, she would her to yell if she needed anything. Then one day they didn't get to her room til 1030am to change her brief from the night before and it was so bad. I know how it works because I have been a caregiver for 45 years. And you DO NOT LET SOMEONE LAY IN A WET BRIEF FOR HOURS. And I know it was for hours from the staff. YOU SHOULD BE CLOSE DOWN

RUN!!!! Do not place a family member here, you will regret it. This facility has changed hands 3x and the reasons are evident. No one cleaned my dad's room before he moved in, we had to move furniture out in order to move him in. He lasted one week under their care and it cost $8600 for that one week, outrageous!!! The care provided is sub par at best. Had to remind staff every 2 hours to give my dad his meds. If you don't plan on being there 24/7 don't place anyone here. We regret this decision for sure. The director, Lynn will tell you a lot of lies and never follow through so again stay far far away. Edit to add, if you notice the owner never addressed any concerns mentioned but instead only tried to deflect. We were assured during the admission process that we would receive a refund (another lie) if something unexpected happened, which it did and so far one month later only crickets!! Also my father wasn't admitted after hours (another lie). So you decide.
