Dogwood Village of Orange County Senior Living

My mother was placed there for them to care for. Time after time we told nurses, the PA and many others our mom had UTI to please check her. We were dismissed over and over. Mom developed a very bad UTI and it became sepsis. Fell and broke her hip and rushed to ER where ER Dr was appalled how bad they let her get. Hospital stays, surgery and many times trying to treat her sepsis, my mom was eventually released from hospital. Needless to say, she was NOT going back to Dogwood. Sad place to put your loved one in their care.

Great people work here. However, their HVAC is extremely minimal in the building and rooms and the staff knows. Ask them before you come here. There should be an anonymous spot inspection of the coolness quality in July/August timeframe. If your loved one wants to stay here and they they don't mind the humidity inside the hallway and rooms, it might be the best choice; otherwise, until they fix the air conditioning, stay clear.

My father has lived at Dogwood Senior Living for the past 4+ years. While it was a huge adjustment for him, the staff was patient and helped him through that time. Since then the staff continues to amaze me with their patience, kindness, and care. Daddy has long been at “home” at Dogwood, made some friends, enjoyed some games, and even won a few times at bingo. Recently his health has declined and again, the care and kindness of the staff couldn’t be better. They are all now a beloved part of our family! The facility is just as lovely as the staff and our family wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dogwood Village! One more thing to note, the staff turnover has been almost non-existent which, to me, proves that these are folks who love their job and the residents they care for. Donna Quarton

My family is fortunate to have Dogwood Village so close at hand. Over the last few years we have had the occasion to take advantage of the excellent professional care of the nurses, therapists and staff in both facilities. My father was in Health & Rehab after open heart surgery and loved the care and therapy he received helping him recover and return to normal life. My aunt also spent time in Health & Rehab when she slipped on ice and broke both her arms. She received excellent care. My uncle spent his last few weeks at Dogwood Village and received the most compassionate care. The Assistant Director of Nursing once spent over an hour with him talking about his concerns. She even sang hymns with him to help him. After her visit, Uncle Bill was so calm and accepting and had a peaceful transition. And finally, my mother moved into the Assisted Living facility and was there for nearly 5 years. The nursing staff, dining staff and housekeeping staff were so attentive to her daily situation and were quick to make changes to her care as her condition changed. She loved the staff and felt quite at home. We were always kept well informed by her caretakers. Dogwood works with people during some of the most painful times of their life, yet the place is happy, friendly and welcoming. Who wouldn’t want to spend time healing there? Randi Burke Richards

Our family was fortunate enough to have my mother spent her last senior years with the exceptional employees and staff of Dogwood who showed love and compassion to her. Her medical, physical, and mental needs were administered with high quality standards. Covid and declining health were a challenge but Dogwood worked with our family to enable us to spend time with my mother. Their staff is above exceptional with care, attentiveness, and concern. Dogwood is a very loving and caring facility and a definite asset to the community the surrounding areas.
