Eden House

I was not asked to do this, but I feel compelled to write a review for Eden House. It's been just over a year now that my Father has been at Eden House, and our experience has been GREAT. My husband & I have a lot of experience with In-Home Care & several other Assisted Living Homes. Our previous experience was always "just good enough" care, with lots of daily check-ins by us. My father always had UTI issues at home with his part-time caregiver & at the 1st facility we had him stationed. Eden House has been very different from other LTC Facilities - it is a private house with only 6 beds, 2 caregivers per shift, and an owner who is there every day - Ana Valeanu. I cannot say enough good things about Ana & her staff. They have basically given me & my husband our lives back. The care at Eden House is so good that we feel safe without doing the daily checkups that we previously had to do when he was at home or at the 1st LTC facility. Our confidence in Eden House is so great, that we have been able to enjoy Florida sunshine during the winter. Ana calls my phone and lets me talk to my father while we are away in Florida. Ana is also very involved in my fathers medical care, interacting with the visiting physician every month. Ana & her staff are very good at visually determining when "something is not right". They will call the visiting physician & will call us to let us know what is going on. My father no longer has the UTI's that he previously had once or twice a year. The holidays are also special at Eden House . They have big feast for their clients every holiday (see the photos). The Eden House is located in a BEAUTIFUL setting in Troy Michigan, with a nice walking park right next to the house, and an occasional deer coming up to the back door of the property. Eden House is a special place, it is unlike any LTC facility that we have ever dealt with. You will not find a better facility for your loved one. Eden House came recommended through a friend-of-a-friend. It was the perfect fit for my mother who lived there for almost six months. My mother was well taken care of by the kind and capable staff and passed away peacefully there. The house and rooms are clean and comfortable. Ana is amazing at what she does, is very attentive to patients, and was always quick to respond to family members. My brother and I live out-of-town and felt very comfortable that our mother was in such good hands. Eden House is located adjacent to a park, so it has a lovely backyard.

Both my Aunt and Mother-in-Law were in the loving care of Eden House when we needed them. They provided a warm home atmosphere, with first rate care for our loved ones specific needs. They always made sure we knew what was going on with them and were quick to answer any questions we had. Our families experiences with Eden House were first rate. We would highly recommend them when you have a loved one in need of extra care.

I cannot say enough positive things about Eden House and the care my mother received there. My mom lived at Eden House for 5½ years. She had dementia and had previously resided at a higher-end memory care residence, a place that had a fancy physical look, design, and layout but did not serve her well; her care at that other facility was substandard and she suffered several unexplained injuries. We’re so glad we found Eden House. The caregivers are all attentive and excellent. They made great efforts to keep my mom and the other residents comfortable, safe, and well-attended. As my mom became less and less mobile, she was at higher risk of developing a pressure sore and that eventually happened, which was not at all something Eden House could be faulted for. The amazing thing was that, through the great care Eden House staff provided, it completely healed and never recurred. The caregiver-to-resident ratio is excellent. They prepare very good, nutritious meals. Eden House is extremely well managed. The home and rooms were always immaculate. We visited frequently and never observed any problems. Management and staff were always willing to communicate with us and kept us informed of any developments. The staff and management were always pleasant. They responded to all questions or concerns we had. It is clear they care a great deal for and about their residents. The physical location is great and the setting ideal, in a quiet residential community with a lovely yard and city park nearby.

We feel incredibly fortunate that we found Eden House for our 85 year old mother, who has mid-stage dementia. The care is exceptional, my mother is treated with kindness and her needs always attended to by very experienced, warm, patient and consistent caregivers who go above and beyond to make her feel safe and comfortable. This is a place that feels like a home, it is immaculate and in a beautiful setting. Everyone there treats our mother like a family member. The food is delicious and healthy. As a family, we are always made aware of how she is doing and the communication is excellent and proactive. If you’re thinking about Eden House don’t hesitate, you won’t find better in my opinion and based on our experience.
