Edgewood Helena Senior Living Llc

Our family member is very satisfied with Edgewood on the assisted living floor where the census is low which keeps the care more personalized. We like the staff and especially like the food service crew; had several meals there and they are friendly, helpful and the food is ample and delicious.

It's always a nice experience at Edgewood when i visit and have lunch with my sister who is a resident there. The lunch is always tasty and the staff is very professional, caring and friendly. Overall feel good atmosphere at Edgewood.

Our mother has been living at Edgewood Assisted living in Helena for the past several months. We are so pleased with the care she is receiving. She had a recent fall and the manner in which they assessed her and made decisions on her behalf was outstanding. Medical staff continued to check on her hourly through the day and into the evening. We are so thankful for their expertise and the way the staff works as a team. The notes they take and put in her file online are professional and detailed because they shared a lot of it with me. I spent 10 days with Mom to be sure things were good. They were excellent. I was there from 8:30 am- 7 pm each evening. You see a lot in that amount of time. . In that time I ate several meals with all the residents in the dining room. The staff in that department were outstanding as well. I watched them take wonderful care of each individual over and over. Their patience is to be commended. A lot of the residents seem needy at times or complain and the dining staff is always accommodating and kind. Next, I met with the Executive Director a few times in my 10 day stay. Julia Morrow loves all the residents like her own family. She answered all my questions and if she didn’t have the answer she sent me to the person who had the answer. Whether it was head of nursing regarding med questions or a rep from Heartland Pharmacy who happened to be on site, regarding a billing question. Everyone is so well trained and knowledgeable. I would also like to mention Serita at the front desk. She greets everyone with a beautiful smile. Serita knows what’s going on around there and can point you in the right direction. She hand delivers mail to residents at lunch which is going above and beyond as all residents have private mailboxes. She decorates the entry for every holiday which makes the place festive and cheerful. I finally had to leave to go back home to Texas. My mother suffered from dementia for nine years and it became more difficult to keep her at home. She had a stroke in Dec of 2022 and we were able to get her a room in the memory care unit Edgewood. This was a blessing for not only my mother but for all of our lives. She made friends with the residents, painting their nails and taking field trips. The staff really loved her. She had incredible care. We were welcome any time and with great joy. I loved visiting her and the staff as well as her many resident friends. Edgewood staff understood and loved my mother and, when she turned 100 they had a grand celebration for her including an article in the paper and cake and ice cream. They enriched all our lives and made my mom’s last year one of joy and love. Many of the staff attended mom’s memorial and are still close to my heart. I can never repay them for their kindness to our family.,

Our family would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone that cares about their loved ones!! After weeks of rocky dealings, our interactions came to an abrupt end an hour before our loved one was to arrive there. In addition, there were disparaging remarks made about the MT VA hospital - where our Veteran had received excellent care. In our opinion, the director’s behavior appeared rude & uncaring, and we believe the interactions were handled unprofessionally and without apologies.
