Moving a elderly loved one from their home can be distressing and heartbreaking. The emotional toll can be extremely heavy for them and you. I was fortunate to find Elegant Senior Living in Encino with a vacancy for my dear friend. This care home operates with compassion, respect for its residents and a professional efficiency that takes in individual detail. The facility is elegant and lovely, but still retains a homey, comfortable ambiance. Its staff members were calm, respectful and skilled. My friend was grateful, not only for their experienced handling, but also their patience and kindness. She became quite fond of some of them. For me, there are not enough words of gratitude for the home’s administrator Daniel who was not only knowledgeable and understanding, but supportive in a myriad of ways as I worked through home, medical service support, medicare, and eventually hospice care. I was never concerned about missed meds or feedings. All of the residents were kept clean and comfortable, and when possible, out of their rooms for socialized activities. In regards to myself as a family client, Daniel anticipated needs and questions sometimes before I knew they would exist. Best of all, his almost daily visits to my friend made her smile….even when close to the end, she had difficulty acknowledging visitors.
