Wonderful facility! Great experience with such a caring staff! Highly recommend.

While shopping at Walmart off of Drake AVE, my friend decided to use the restroom before leaving. I proceeded checking out, then made my way to the restroom to wait for her. While waiting, I heard there was a code white in the restroom. Thinking it was my friend, I rushed to an employee and she assured me it was an elderly woman. I then walked in to see my friend helping the woman to her chair, while an employee watched. She was trying to radio someone to help. My friend was the only one trying to help this woman to her chair. No staff in sight. I come and help my friend by grabbing this woman’s legs and lifting her the best I can (I am 5 months PP) we finally are able to lift her successfully. We made sure she was not hurt, she assured us two that she was okay and thanked us for helping her. She was unable to hear well, and was unable to give us any details as to where she belonged other than a bus. She let us know this was her first time having this happen and she was scared and wanted to get back to the bus. We started wheeling her to the exit and a woman with short hair and a name tag from Proveer by Byrd Springs ran towards saying she belonged with her. We told her what happened, and asked to make sure she was okay. As we were leaving we saw the bus she was trying to get to, they were loading up and no one was looking for her. I’m wondering what would have happened if the woman hadn’t glanced over and saw us wheeling her outside, or if she had finished before we did. Very sad that no one was looking for this woman and no one knew she had fell. Hope they find a better way of ensuring their elderly’s safety on trips.

My mom and stepdad moved into Proveer about 2 months ago. It has been an adjustment for them as they are used to living on their own. The staff has been wonderful. Loving on them and making them feel very special… as they do with all the residents. The nursing staff is amazing. The techs are the best. They treat my mom and stepdad like family. My mother-in-law has been a resident since last July and they are great to her also. We can lay our head down at night and know they are not only taken care of but truly loved. LeighAnn (the administrator) and Louise (the DON) are always very helpful and communicate well with us. Renee is an amazing Activities Director and keeps everyone busy and engaged. We could not be happier that my mom, stepdad and mother-in-law are so well cared for.

My brother and I moved my mom into Proveer at the end of February and are very pleased with the facility and staff. The staff are wonderful to work with and Jennifer Goff has been very helpful!

My Mom has been living at SummerHouse (formerly Elmcroft) at Byrd Springs for over three years. We brought her to tour SummerHouse first and then visited a few other senior living communities. But in her words, the other places didn’t feel like home or as comfortable as SummerHouse. The office staff, nurses and employees have made Mom feel safe, special and are there for her whenever she needs assistance.
