ELMCROFT OF TEAYS VALLEY (ALR/ALZ)

My mother was a resident of Celebration Villa Teays Valley where she received quality care and compassion. The decision was made to move her from another Assisted Living facility to Celebration Villa after meetings with the staff. My mother was well care for, and was kept comfortable, the last months of her life. The staff worked well with Hospice. I would recommend Celebration Villa. Tim Skiles

I have the pleasure each month to spend time with residents and staff @ Celebration Villas. Ashley, Activities Director, puts so much thought and effort into engaging the residents, and you can tell they love the events she plans with them. January is continuously working to help families with admissions and the moving transition, and you can tell the residents are comfortable with her open door policy. Mandy always lets me know she appreciates my involvement with her community. And Amy helps families coordinate the needed meds and care for their loved ones. Each staff member interacts with the residents like family. I truly enjoy my visits & appreciate all those that make this “home” for the residents.

If you dislike your family member and want to ensure they receive no care or compassion for their condition, this is your place! The complete lack of care during a covid lockdown (due to their inability to follow basic safety protocols with their staff) when we could not see my father was heartbreaking and avoidable. We had over a dozen medical staff at the hospital questioning how someone could be this neglected at a “fancy” Assisted Living in two weeks time. The director showed a complete lack of professionalism and compassion as well to my mother afterwards; there is no excuse for the things she said nor how my mother was treated. This is the last place I would put anyone for “care”. I have been in dozens of assisted living facilities in another state due to my job- it is almost inconceivable what these folks did to my father and isn’t the standard of care am accustomed to from an AL facility. Very sad for this area to have a place like this exist and fool folks. We hope nobody else has to go thru what we did. To add insult to injury, we never received all of my father’s possessions back since they didn’t do a pre or post inventory of his belongings nor did they have it ready when we were finally informed we could pick up his belongings (they even charged us for the week he was in the hospital even though they took five days to call us back! Unbelievable) We received things that didn’t even belong to him (not clothing, btw) which is very sad. My advice: run, do not walk, away from the lies and complete staff incompetence at this facility. Am uncertain how they sleep at night knowing what goes on here and only hope they never have to go thru this with one of their family members.

This place is where I put my Mom to keep her safe. It did not work out. She fell multiple times, spent many days in the hospital with blood clots in her arm because the staff did not assess her after she broke her arm on one of those falls. They kicked her out because she liked to walk the facility and they felt she might walk out. Which she never did. She was fearful and told us often that the staff was mean to her They cant handle anyone who doesn't stay in their room. If your family member has a Dementia with Lewy Bodies diagnosis they do not understand this form of dementia and will treat your family member unfairly. When I was able to see her on sporadic visits, when they allowed visitors, Mom was unkept, hair not washed, fingernails untrimmed. Please be watchful of your loved one if you choose this place.

A wonderful caring, compassionate place for your loveone. The staff is terrific and I just can't say enough good things about how well managed and involved the staff and management are with the residence and their family. It's great to have that "piece of mind" knowing your loveone is being well taken care of and the right choice was made.
