My mom was in here for liver failure and she went into cardiac arrest with hypothermia, Probably because when I went and saw her, she was laying on a bed, basically on the ground with a sheet. No pants And the sheet was wet because she spilled her water. I don’t know how long she was left laying like that, but she was freezing. She’s always cold in general because she’s skin and bones and they would not give her any extra blankets. When she was removed from there, I called to get her things and I called for two days with no answer. Finally, Someone answered, but they would not say anything, twice this happened then a man answered, and I said you should get an answering machine because people are trying to reach their loved ones. And explained that I needed to come get my mom’s belongings and that guy just hung up. If you care about anyone in this facility or human life at all, donate blankets to this facility as soon as possible. Call on your local Walmart to donate to this facility call on your local Home Depot or Lowe’s to do a community project at this facility. The Lowes one is called Hometown heroes. The residents here need the communities help, and these corporate entities should be willing to offer some support.

Unfortunately, this facility really disappointed me. I do not have a relative living here but I am a community member who asked to provide some musical entertainment for the residents. When I first arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I was left outside with no way to get in. I had to keep ringing the door bell for nearly 10 minutes before someone came to let me in. Once I was inside I immediately noticed that the facility reeked of human urine. It looked like there had been little to no physical upkeep on the building as well. While visiting with the residents during my musical performance many of them told me how they are rarely checked on throughout the day. I understand that Emerald may be suffering a staff shortage but this state of this facility is so unacceptable.

This facility is a great place and prides themselves on caring for a complex population of seniors, which is commendable and not the case for all nursing homes. They support the continuum of healthcare ensuring a safe place for seniors and open bed for hospitals! Their therapy team works diligently to rehab residents to be as independent as possible!

If you care about your loved one, choose another facility. The one star goes for the staff. I work at a clinic where many of their residents go to. Transportation gal is very very rude, drops residents off late to appointments & has them wait almost 2 hours after being SEEN, & will tell you to stop calling her when you call to tell her they are ready for pick up. If that’s how she speaks to people, I can’t imagine how she talks to the residents. Very disrespectful of her. This place already has a bad reputation & I see why. My heart is with the residents, I really do hope they are getting treated the way they should. Management, please do better.
