ENCLAVE OF SCARBOROUGH, THE

My almost 90 year old mother in law has been living in Assisted Living at the Enclave for 3 weeks. It was a challenging adjustment for her moving from an independent living facility an hour from where her son and I live here in Scarborough. Although her studio is considerably smaller, she did not require so much space, and the new living situation addresses her additional support needs. The staff has been wonderful helping her acclimate and promt to respond to our inquiries. Nathan deserves high marks in helping the family with multiple tours and facilitating the studio preparations including fresh coats of paint. The maintenance guys were prompt getting her photos and precious paintings mounted. The space is cozy and inviting. The directors met with me to go over her Care Plan, and they explained the process while receiving my feedback. The support staff are friendly and patient. Concierge are always welcoming and helpful. New furniture was recently brought in as part of a decor update, and when residents complained the new theater chairs were uncomfortable, leadership wasted no time addressing the issue with more appropriate seating. I was happy to see they cared! My mother in law will continue to adjust, but I feel confident she is in a living situation that will provide a safer and rewarding environment. The location is ideal. Close to many beaches and parks, the facility can offer opportunities for outside excursions once warm weather returns.

I want to give a huge shout out to the team at the Enclave for accommodating my very unique request. My brass quintet, Harbor Brass Quintet (one of the small group ensembles of the Maine POPs Concert Band), needed a practice location and it was suggested I contact The Enclave. The Enclave team enthusiastically agreed to let us rehearse for which I offered to play a formal concert for the residents. We have now rehearsed in the front lobby at least 3 separate times. At each session we have at least 10 residents listening, singing or clapping to our music. It has been such a joy to see the residents interact with us (and not mind our occasional "redo"). It brings special meaning to the Maine POPs mission statement - "Building Community Through Music". Thank you Enclave for hosting Harbor Brass!

We recently moved my mother into the Enclave and from the first phone call to the move in day it was a smooth and wonderful experience. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and efficient. It took less than one week from start to finish. The Enclave has a bright and cheery feel, and my mother has just loved it from the day she moved in! Definitely is a place you can call home, and she is so glad she went there.

My husband & I toured a variety of assisted living facilities for my 90 year old mother. The Enclave was, by far, #1 on our list. Initially, mom wasn't ready to make a move. After passing on a couple of apartments, she agreed to give it a try. It has only been a week since she moved in. We are both ecstatic as to how the 1st week has gone! The staff is top notch; very professional, friendly, caring & welcoming. It was important to us to find a place that was not too overwhelming yet offered a variety of services & activities that mom may need to enrich her life. The Enclave exceeds our expectations. Mom says the food is wonderful with many options from which to choose. She also said she has been so busy this week that she hasn't had time to get fully organized. Music to our ears & hearts. From start to finish the staff at the enclave have been incredible. We started our journey with Nathan who explained the process and gave us a very thorough tour. He was extremely reassuring, caring and informative. When we moved our mom in, we were quickly greeted by name and introduced throughout the facility. Everyone was very welcoming and warm. It can be a very tough transition to move from independent living to memory care, however The incredible Staff all remembered our mom’s name from day one and included her in all activities. We are thrilled with our choice To move her to the enclave. She is extremely well taken care of With a multitude of activities, High ratio of staff to resident and a beautiful facility inside and out! We highly recommend the enclave!
