English Meadows Blacksburg Campus

I don't write a lot of review but lately I felt the need to give people their flowers. Carnita Barker went above and beyond her duties to try to get someone on a call for me. And then when told it wasn't their job she apologized for not being able to help. She tried at least two times and both times came back defeated but I wanted her to know that her time and effort was appreciated.

This place is wonderful! My mother moved in in May 2025. We were struggling to find an assisted living place for her and met many road blocks from other facilities. It was overwhelming and my siblings and I were unsure what we were going to do. Then I called English Meadows and spoke with John, the manager. He immediately made me feel relief -- that we would receive the help with needed. He made the process super smooth. All the staff at the facility are amazingly friendly, warm, and welcoming. My mother has made tremendous improvement in her mobility and mental-state since arriving there -- because of the supportive and welcoming community of staff. She tells me that she is extremely happy there -- that it's like living in a village where everyone knows your name and you always have friendly people around. PS: I think there might have been a change in management/ownership, pay more attention to the recent reviews on here.

Staff at this facility are wonderful! Management has come a tremendous way and are doing a wonderful job. Matt, the administrator, is sincere and hard working to ensure all of his residents are well taken care of. Lea, the ADON, is a new change to the building and she is AMAZING! She works her butt off and truly has the staff and her residents needs in mind. I visit weekly with hospice and always recommend this ALF because the staff truly cares!

Great Staff that care and have passion to do the job! Management team very down to earth and do what is needed for the residents! Blacksburg Campus is Family and feels very warm and welcoming!!!

Terrible management, obvious stress on the staff, children running around throwing toys and yelling. If there was a part of me that thought this was a good home for my family, my opinion has changed. Don't come here if you want peace and quiet.
