This was my first time visiting Esplanade Gardens, and Sylvia and Parker were the absolute sweetest! They were patient and approachable. The lobby was clean and elegant also, which I love!

This is not a place I would trust to place your loved one anymore, they're dishonest, untrustworthy, inconsistent, never know when you're going to get a decent caregiver or one that neglects them. There was extreme amount of neglect going on there not real clean, clothes in their closet always smelled like urine, we noticed our loved one was never hydrated very much they don't want to give the residents water to much because they don't want to have to change their diapers very often IMO, so my mother had a headache sometimes not being hydrated enough. As soon as we demanded water or Thicket they recovered. You can't rely on them to be honest all the time they go through caregivers as fast as anyone around I would think always somebody new there. The caregivers quit or they fired through what we would hear from the other caregivers. It seems they hire the bottom of the barrel there. Maybe it's that way everywhere in this area of texas. I don't know. If you come up on them at times where they least expect it earlier in the morning or in the evening just at various times and you can catch them off guard is when you will see a lot of what I'm talking about. They hide it pretty good and let each other know by warning each other that you're coming in various ways so they can get your loved one ready or presentable you have to watch them leaving them in the bed all day and overdosing them with meds that put them to sleep for many hours during the day. Now understand there are good caregivers everywhere that truly love the residents that they take care of it's just that you can't get that consistently there that I've seen Others seem like they just don't care and that will ruin it for everybody even the med techs are pretty bad there at least the head one is. Caught her lying about why they didn't feed my mother one morning when I caught them off guard by coming early in the morning. Sure enough I care never got fired over that but then they tried to cover it up. Caregiving is a tough profession, it is very hard work but I've had my loved one who's in their 90s all around assisted living facilities Etc. from California to here in Texas been doing this for a lot of years my mother has been diagnosed with dementia for 15 years i have experienced quite a bit so I've learned a lot. But unfortunately I had to contact the ombudsman, the HHSC-Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Report them. Also they made sure that internet didn't work in the memory care section but did work everywhere else. Their head guy Johnny Richardson blamed it on construction when the caregivers said it hadn't worked in that memory side they've been there. Well I've been there 3 years and hadn't worked in that time.Just talking about the memory side. You know the side that probably needs it the most. They do have some good people that work there especially behind the desk the bookkeeper she also does other things Sylvia and then Parker the receptionist she does more than just that also, they made life easier through all that we went through. Just know it wasn't entirely bad the whole three plus years but you constantly have to watch everything that they do, you cannot trust them other than the two people I mentioned. And that's the whole point of putting your loved one in there is to be able to trust the facility that they're taking care of your precious loved one but you can't do that here you have to monitor at all times. I had major health problems so couldn't keep my Mother (she's 96) in my home with me. Otherwise that's a better choice but again it's very difficult when they have dementia/ Alzheimer's and are in a wheelchair can't help themselves help you.Because it's such a difficult work and difficult field I really hate even having to write all this but they have upset us so much it was Unreal, now we have other family members taking care of my mother now out of town. My advice would not be to put them in this facility but if you do always monitor everything record all conversations in the facility and pray that they're going to be okay.

In 2024, I began touring memory care facilities for my mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. After touring several facilities I decided to visit Esplanade Gardens. It was a beautiful facility and the front office staff was very friendly. I met with Laura, Marketing Director who gave me a tour of the facility. Laura answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. I thought it would be best to take advantage of the Respite Program which would give me an opportunity to see how well my mom would adjust. The caregivers in the Memory Care area were very nice and made my mom feel very comfortable. In November 2024, mom moved in full time and she is doing great. I visit mom often and she never fails to tell me how nice the people are. Any questions or concerns I have are always addressed in a timely manner. I appreciate the staff and caregivers for taking such wonderful care of my mom and for giving me peace of mind knowing that she is in good hands. God bless you!

I searched for retirement communities for my Mom in 2023. My criteria were facilities that were open, inviting, clean and friendly, among other things. My Mom likes lots of natural light and engaging activities such as live music and bingo. We discovered Esplanade Gardens and she moved in a year ago. Esplanade has easy access to highways, amenties, and pharmacies. The staff are all professional, patient, friendly, and attentive. The front office is well organized and helpful. The maintenance and facility staff are on top of all the cleanliness and repair orders. The chef and kitchen staff are superb!!! My Mom never misses a meal and always has rave reviews. The medical staff and the aides are tireless and wonderfully compassionate. They are faithful to reach out to me in the event of any concerns for my Mom's wellbeing. The nurses are very bright and conscientious. The aides are first class! They never show anything besides a willingness to cheerfully help out in any situation. The leasing office is simple, flexible, and straightforward- no hidden expenses. The social and activities department is creative and engaging, always decorating the facility for each new holiday and event. Esplanade is large enough to have everything my Mom needs but small enough for everyone to know each other on a first name basis. Rapport and dignity define this friendly assisted living community in Live Oak. My Mom is well cared for and happily settled here. I'm grateful for the attention and care I can count on the staff at Esplanade to provide. Thank you Esplanade!! 10/10

We toured Esplanade Gardens and decided it was a good fit for us. The facility was extremely clean and we met staff and residents in a tour. The food was excellent and nurses, maintenance, front desk & staff all professional and friendly. Very welcoming atmosphere. Mom will move in soon.
