I love Fairwinds - Ivey Ranch. The residents are so nice and welcoming and the staff is wonderful. I couldn't have found a better place to live at this stage of my life. The activities are great and there are so many things to do. There's something for everyone. Last Saturday we went to the LIPS brunch in Hillcrest. It was absolutely hilarious and we had so much fun. What a great outing and group! Keep it going Karl we have a good thing here! I am adding to my review as I am coming up on my one year as a happy camper (well not exactly camping). There are so many people that make Fairwinds great and I can't thank them all enough for the things they do every day to make all of our lives stress free, healthy and enjoyable. I believe this is a unique place in the wide field of senior living options. I'm just happy to have found it.

We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful place for our mom to live. She moved there when my father passed away and she has been treated so well and has made so many friends. She is thriving and we couldn't be happier with our decision.

Susan and I would like to recommend The Fairwinds - Ivey Ranch, Retirement Facility, in the highest manner possible. To set the scene, our parents, Stan and Nancy Kukawka, were residents at the this facility, for more than 8 years. They did research on all the Retirement Facilities in the North County San Diego area for two years. Then they chose the Fairwinds - Ivey Ranch Facility in Oceanside, California. The facility is ultra clean and well organized. The staff is incredibly personable. Once you told them who you were, they would call you by your first name, thereafter. They made you feel as though you were old friends.. Also, not one of the staff had snotty or rude attitude, not even once. It was amazing. They all seemed to love their jobs and the residents that they worked with. We ate there several times. The food was great and varied widely, so you did not get tired of it, They would give you a printed menu for each meal. You had a waitress or waiter who would take your order and bring you your food quickly. Holidays were observed with special food and music, often with decorations and costumes.. We commonly would say the Fairwinds was like a 5 star Hotel. Dad died during 2023 and mom died in 2024. Mom spent the last 18 months of her life on her own. During that time, we were at the Fairwinds nearly every day, as we live just a mile away. Mom was in the Emergency Department and/or admitted to the hospital multiple times. Martha Grant, the Nursing Supervisor, kept closed track of her during those difficult times. Martha told us about services that Mom could have as she became less mobile. She could let the Fairwinds do safety checks at scheduled intervals, as needed. They could handle her daily medications, assist with showers, empty trash, do laundry and bring meals up to her room. Mom took advantage many of these services as she declined, all with a modest up-charge. During the last month of Mom’s life, she needed to be hospice, in her apartment. When asked, we were given several reputable hospice companies to choose from. They had used them in the past and could recommend good ones to us. When Hospice was not with her, the caregiving staff was invaluable and incredible. Several times, Mom would have shortness of breath or chest pain. We would say to each other, we need to call the Health Office for some help. Within 1 or 2 minutes, the doorbell would ring. We opened the door and to our surprise, a Fairwinds caregiver would be standing right there. This happened more than once, without our making a call to the Health Office. They were Heaven sent angels with compassion and heart. Even after mom’s death, we were supported by the Fairwinds. They complimented us on our job as advocates for our Mom. The result of Mom and Dad’s research, turned out to be very fruitful. Our parent's retirement experience was exceptional. We would recommend the Fairwinds - Ivey Ranch at the highest level, to anyone searching for a Retirement Facility.

I've only been a resident for 4 weeks and I have never met such caring conscientious employees in every department here, but the friendliness and the openness of the residence is just verifying. I made the absolute right decision for where I should live
