Fanno Creek By Elite Care

Me and my sisters searched for homes for my mom who had Alzheimer’s and stumbled upon Elite Care at Fanno Creek. When we walked in it did not feel like we were walking into a sterile assisted living. I cannot even explain how Fanno Creek is so drastically different in a good way! We all immediately knew we had found the perfect place. They have a big community open kitchen, and it did not feel like a cafeteria like the other assisted living homes did. It felt like you were in someone’s home. Jenn the chef would always be cooking and talking to the residents like family would. My mom’s apartment was huge with a living room, bedroom, and large bathroom. Plenty of space and it made her feel as if she was just downsizing and not going into a home. It was bright and clean and just felt right. They do all kinds of activities and have a garden with chickens. The staff there is so caring and had a real vested interest in my mom’s wellbeing. Jessica was amazing and always looking out for her. I do not have one bad thing to say about anyone. Lissa the administrator was the best and at the end of my mom’s life was there for us. We wanted to be with my mom in the end and at least one of us was there around the clock. I feel I was there so much that I can write this review with my own personal experience of how GREAT this place is. I have recommended this place to everyone I know that is in the same situation that we were in. Not wanting to put your loved ones in a home, but there is no alternative. Please, if you are looking for a place go take the time to tour Fanno Creek and you will understand what I mean by it is drastically different. It is in Tigard and farther away than we wanted but it was so worth it to have my mom happy and feeling good about where she was. I wish I could give it 10 stars!

I moved my Aunt to Fanno Creek two days before Christmas during the pandemic from a neglectful situation. Courtney and Misty bent over backwards during a crazy pandemic holiday season to make the move happen. The transition went beautifully for my aunt right from the start because there was always something to do and people to be with. During a brief time when the pandemic forced some isolation, Nick went above and beyond to make sure that my aunt had a proper birthday celebration. Nick is a wonderful Activities Director. Everyone at Fanno Creek wears many hats and pitches in where needed. I have not witnessed any “that’s not my job” attitudes whatsoever! I felt such relief when I realized that my aunt was not only happy and well fed, but thriving. I love that Fanno Creek feels like a home, not a fancy hotel and not a clinical basement Memory Care Unit. It is altogether different from your typical Assisted Living Facility and Memory Care.

During the wildfires, the diligent staff including the director, Misty Whitmore, showed up to care for my mother and all the other residents every day, even when they themselves had been evacuated and were worried about losing their homes. Wow! I will never forget their commitment to service even in the face of the most challenging circumstances. Brings tears to my eyes.
