Five Star Premier Residences Of Chevy Chase

We have had a great experience at Discovery Residence. I moved my mother into Discovery about 3 years ago. I was so grateful to find an affordable yet high quality residence that would provide my mother with a community. After only a week at Discovery, she had made many friends and was well engaged in all of the activities. The staff are incredibly supportive and truly care about the residents. We are very happy with are decision to move to Discovery.

One of the worst dining experiences ever faced. This all began this evening, 2/3/2026, during dinner time. A bar attendant/server, who was hosting my mother and her other peers at the bar. Had an unprofessional, rude attitude. My mother politely requested that her food be warmed up, as it was not up to her expectations. The bar attendant blatantly refused to warm up her meal and scolded her. My mother expressed to me that he had a constant unprofessional attitude toward her table. Discovery Senior Living needs to work on this immediately. How come we are paying such a high amount of rent for my mother, yet she is treated to this type of unprofessional service? It is absolutely absurd that my mother and her table were subjected to this type of ignorance and scolding from the bar attendant. If my mother had never informed me of this incident, I would not have been aware of this type of treatment. Who knows? This could've been going on for a while without my attention. Please fix this issue immediately.

My wife and I have lived in Five Star Premier Residences for nearly three months and are very pleased. An important feature in choosing it was that they are a rental property and doesn’t require a huge upfront payment. Cindy Miller, the Sales Counselor, patiently worked with us and found an ideal apartment. On move in day we were greeted with a welcome sign on our door signed by staff and a platter of snacks and sparkling water. The following week we attended a welcoming dinner where we met other new residents and long term residents who gave advice. The staff are all very friendly and greet us by name. Many have worked here for years. The food is great and the chef is sensitive to dietary issues and responds to resident feedback. Services include weekly cleaning of our apartment and washing bedding. Residents are friendly and enjoy living here. It’s been easy to make new friends over a meal or at one of the many interesting activities. We’re grateful to be living here.

I cannot say enough positive things about Five Star Premier Residences. The staff is amazing. They are fiercely dedicated people with great professionalism as well as great compassion. The first contact with Cindy was extremely informative and right to the point. She helped me understand how the facility was run and what it could offer my 94 year old mother. Cindy, Audrey and Emanuel helped me and my family get my mother moved in to a beautiful apartment in a very short period of time. They made the transition absolutely flawless and my mother has settled in to this lovely community. My entire family could not be more pleased with how well the place is run but are also so pleased with the security and general concern that is exhibited by each and every employee. The dining room and cuisine is excellent and the servers are lovely. All in all, I cannot say enough about how pleased we all are with every aspect of Five Star and most importantly, how happy and relaxed our mother is in her new surroundings.

A shout out to the creative, energetic, enthusiastic and gracious Jasmine Bromfield, Lifestyle Coordinator at 5-Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase. My mom felt a warm embrace from the first "Aloha". Moving from Hawaii to the DMV is never an easy transition, but Jasmine's expert programming has made the journey a welcome one. Thanks for keeping a smile on our faces and a beat in our step.
