On Sunday, June 14, 2026 I went to visit my mom. She had been there. I’m not sure exactly how long because my sister’s put her there without my permission when I was caring for her at home. But anyway, I asked Mom if she wanted to go to church and she said yes and we were getting ready and as we were leaving the front desk lady, I think her name first name starts with a B she stopped us which I found very weird because a month prior I took her out shopping and I asked that same lady. She looked at me like I was crazy like of course you can take her out. But nobody told anything. Told me anything. It’s not even the fact that I can’t take her out. It’s how they are treating me with very much disrespect. That’s my mom and she doesn’t have a lot of days left and I want to enjoy the days that I can with her. Also, when I call them back, the manager is so rude to me, talks down to me like I’m a child and they don’t even seem to have a heart for the fact that I want to be able to visit my mom on her last days. Because you never know. And then I asked them if something was to happen to her. Would they call me and they were saying no they’re just gonna call the main sister who doesn’t even talk to me and I don’t know why that place is horrible. I would not take my dog there.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We take feedback regarding team member interactions, care and communication very seriously, as ensuring our residents and their families feel supported and respected is a top priority. While we cannot discuss individual circumstances in a public forum, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand what occurred and address these matters appropriately. The community’s Executive Director is the ideal first contact. Also, you may call our main office at 816-444-0900.

The Garden Home residents are treated like fourth class citizens. They promise the world and provide very poor service. It took over a year to get a microwave replaced, some of the things that were wrong nearly 4 years ago still have not been fixed. My dishwasher quit 8/26 and I don’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon! I’m looking forward to departing Fort Wayne!
Response from the owner
I am the Executive Director and want to assure you that we take all maintenance concerns seriously and aim to address them promptly. After assessing your dishwasher on two occasions, it was found to be fully functional, and we’re sorry to hear you’re dissatisfied with that outcome. We want to ensure your comfort, so I would be happy to discuss this further. Please feel free to reach out to schedule a time to talk.
