Hi Elsbeth, we usually recognize our reviewers. Are you sure you're reviewing the skilled nursing facility and not the assisted living facility which is a separate company? We only do short term post acute care, typically our patients stay 30 days and go home.

⭐ 1 star I am writing this review to share the deeply concerning experiences my mother has had at this facility. What I have witnessed reflects a pattern of neglect, unsafe practices, and unprofessional behavior that no patient should ever be subjected to. **1. Extremely Delayed Responses to Call Lights** My mother routinely waits up to 30 minutes or more for help—especially when she needs brief changes. This delay is not only uncomfortable for her but potentially harmful. **2. Left on the Toilet Without Help** On one recent occasion, she was left sitting on the toilet for an extended period despite repeatedly pressing the call button. Staff only responded after she yelled for help for about 10 minutes, by which time she was crying in pain. When she expressed distress, a staff member raised their voice at her—completely unacceptable behavior toward any patient. **3. Left in Wet Clothing and Bedding** There have been multiple times when my mother was left in a wet brief, wet clothing, and a wet bed for 30 minutes or longer. This is unsanitary, degrading, and dangerous. **4. Little to No Mobility Support—Especially on Weekends** My mother is rarely assisted out of bed except for bathroom needs. From Friday evening through Monday morning, she receives no walking or exercise support at all. A nurse even stated that weekends don’t operate differently—only that the manager isn’t there—raising questions about supervision and accountability. **5. Unsafe Diabetes and Insulin Practices** I have serious concerns about how her diabetes care is being managed, including: * Being told insulin is only administered if blood sugar is above 300 * Being given insulin and then left without food for over 1.5 hours * Being offered cookies—an inappropriate option for a diabetic patient To me, these scenarios indicate a lack of proper training and understanding of basic diabetic care. **6. Poor Food Quality** Meals are regularly cold, late, or unidentifiable. This does not meet even minimal nutritional or quality standards. **7. Lack of Basic Dignity** Expecting a patient to use briefs in bed and then leaving them in soiled conditions is degrading and far below any acceptable standard of care. --- Based on everything I’ve witnessed, I believe my mother’s safety, dignity, and well-being have been repeatedly compromised. I have formally requested a full investigation and corrective action, including staff retraining, improved oversight, and proper adherence to patient-care standards. I sincerely hope this facility addresses these issues immediately. No family should have to worry that their loved one is being treated this way. ---

My dad was cared for at Forest Hill Manor at least twice. I’m preparing to move into assisted living in 2 weeks myself. I would not consider doing so if Dad’s care had been substandard. The staff was competent, professional, and friendly. The first time we took Dad home, staff members came to the house beforehand to do a brief inspection and provide safety tips. This was helpful and greatly reduced our anxiety over bringing him home. I highly recommend this facility.

Thanks Patti, so glad you were pleased with the team and experiences! As a side note, Forest Hill Manor nursing facility is not affiliated with the ALF.

My mother recently transferred to the Skilled Nursing Facility at Forest Hill Manor after an acute care stay due to illness. We were very pleased with her stay. All the staff were attentive, kind and caring. Their continued care including the physical and occupational therapies helped my mom to return to her home after a short stay. We found the facility very clean & pleasant.
Response from the owner
