Super friendly staff. Residents are always happy and so interesting!

Forest Ridge Assisted Living deserves every bit of a 5-star rating! My loved one has truly thrived since moving in; always clean, happy, and healthy. The community itself is beautiful, warm, and welcoming, with rooms that are spacious, tidy, and well cared for. The staff here genuinely care about each resident and go above and beyond to make everyone feel like family. You can tell that the management team takes great pride in what they do, striving every single day to provide the very best care possible. I couldn’t be more thankful for the peace of mind Forest Ridge gives our family.

Inadequate staff, many with indifference to residents. Insufficient linens; residents have to beg for clean towels. Trash unemptied for days in resident rooms. Unlocked front door; residents could walk, especially on weekends. No supervision in dining room; residents could choke. Medication errors. Windows corroded preventing exit of residents in case of emergency. Little interaction by director with staff. Many empty beds. Residents take care of each other. No response from Navion Management from concerned family members. It was a devastating mistake to put my mother there!

My Mom had a difficult introduction to assisted living. After my Dad passed away after they had been married for 72 years, my Mom had to move from her home in Buncombe County and into assisted living closer to me in Ashe County. She initially went to another assisted living facility in Ashe County until she was hospitalized a few months later and that facility refused to take her back. She ended up in a skilled facility in Ashe County for a month when we knew she was not happy there. Forest Ridge agreed that she could be cared for by them and we made her final move. She was there for ten months and even transitioned to the memory care unit. Forest Ridge was able to work with Hospice and keep my Mom comfortable and in one place with a caring staff. I was a business office manager for a long term care facility in Haywood County for twenty five years and no place is as good as home and no place is perfect, but as long as they listen to your concerns and do what is best for your family member than it will be hard to find any place better.

I called some time back to get a health status on a couple of residents at this facility. I didn’t get any kind of status for either person, resulting in my time being wasted as I was lied to, disrespected, and abused. I later learned, at the time I called, one of the residents I called about, was gravely ill. I found out that resident died on the internet. I didn’t even know he was sick!! I don’t understand why the abuse, disrespect, and lying to me. Unless that was more fun than just telling me I was not to find out anything about the persons I called about. I’m sure the office persons would NOT want to be treated the way I was if they were trying to find out about one of their loved ones!! Additionally, at my age, every second is precious. I can’t afford to have any time wasted, let alone what I consider a large chunk of it. Since I live multiple states away, I could have made plans in some capacity if I knew that person was so gravely ill. So, due to the abuse, I have to live with the fact that I will NEVER get to see and speak to that person one last time! What happened to me is unacceptable and should NOT have happened!! As far as I know, the other resident is still alive in some capacity. I am concerned that if I place another call, yet again my time will be wasted and I will again, still know NOTHING!!!
