Fox Trail Memory Care Living Chester

Two over worked aides, very nice indeed, looked over about 12 patients with dementia wandering around a large room with a big screened TV (airing sub-standard programming) when I visited. The aides were very busy in the kitchen and like I said, just delightful but if I had Power of Attorney, I would have taken my mom out of there immediately. In fact, I"m hiring an attorney to get custody of my mom so I can take her back home where the food, the environment and the care is safer and better.

This home was very good until the nurse resident manager left for health issues. History of understaffing causes stress to aides. Many good aides don’t last. Requires a lot of follow-up to make sure your loved one is taken care of. Lack of communication to family members about their loved ones even when they are not doing well. Terrible record keeping of your loved one and they don’t pass on information to aides during shift changes. During sundowning, they have tied patients to their chairs with sheets. I bought a couch for them and they allowed patients to sleep on it during the night who urinated in it. After my mom died, I reported them to the NJ Ombudsman and they were cited for violations.

Think twice before placing a loved one in this facility. It was nothing but a BIG LIE and a show. The residents are ignored and literally bored to death. It's a revolving door of help that don't appear to be qualified or held accountable for their job responsibilities. Their is no supervision, so they sit on their phones while the residents stare at nothing. Forget about healthy meals too! There is a menu that no one follows and it's mostly processed foods that are prepared in a filthy kitcen. My mother always looked like a bag lady. Her hair was matted to her head, she had dried food on her chin, no bra, food on her shirt, etc. There is no dignity or respect for the residents. Very Sad! They need to be fined and shut down. Don't do this to your loved ones.

THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! ( It deserves zero stars but you can’t post without assigning one star). They have undertrained staff, no oversight (one manager 9-5, after that your loved one is left with 2 CNA’s with minimal training and not equipped to handle emergencies. There is no medical staff on site ( I told the staff my mother was sick, they told me she was fine and gave her tea. She had covid) , it is filthy (my mother contracted Ecoli), the staff were horribly abusive (I have it recorded), they falsify records, no regard for patients dignity or safety, my mother was often dressed in other peoples dirty clothing, her bedding went missing, she was not given her hospice medication when it was critical (the one CNA on duty) did not think she needed it, she was hospitalized the next day and died a week later) . I wanted to move her desperately, but due to covid every facility was on lockdown. I could write pages, on how horrifying this facility is. The state needs to shut it down. Please do not use this facility. What happened to my mother at their hands is heartbreaking.

Beautiful place small but clean and workers are Awesome, they cook , clean, patient care it’s great for a small community they are all team players here ... whinny is awesome Monica is great
