Gabriel Manor Assisted Living Center

My Aunt has been in Memory Care for 2 + years. She feels safe and is content. The staff manage her care well and I enjoy the staff and residents. The manager and staff are very friendly, work to have social programs for the residents, family and staff. There is no such place perfect. BUT, in my searching and visits Gabriel Manor and its staff compares best for my Aunt.

My name is Penny Varney and I recently toured Gabriel Manor Assisted Living in Clayton after searching online for assisted living facilities in the area. When I called the facility, they provided me with Tammy Smith’s contact information. She was very prompt in returning my phone call and was extremely kind and knowledgeable. Tammy took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions and gave us a very nice tour of the facility. The community itself was beautiful, clean, and welcoming. You can truly tell they care about their residents. Unfortunately, it was not the right fit for my father due to his specific medical needs, but I would absolutely recommend others to tour and speak with Tammy if they are exploring assisted living options in Clayton.

Gabriel Manor administration and staff have been very attentive to providing care to my mom who has late stage Alzheimer’s disease. They were also helpful in coordinating hospice care for my mom. You will find a small family feel from the care providers here, something that is hard to find today.

I have visited several facilities with memory care for my mother. Only 2 of many passed what I consider high standards, the other place is an hour away. It was not chaotic nor loud, with a calendar full of a variety of activities! Each staff member that I passed greeted me with kindness and smiles. There are 8 patients per staff. After reading all of the reviews, it is apparent that most of the negative comments that have been posted are from disgruntled employees, being revengeful for their terminations and unfounded. Some of the negative comments appear to be from individuals not happy with the costs. Assuming that like most people, never planned ahead knowing and preparing for this difficult transition of life. I am very impressed with the facility and their current staff.

For the most part, my experience with Gabriel Manor has been wonderful. The entire move-in process was well handled by Tammy Smith, who was professional and informative and helped in any way she could. The staff that I have encountered have been mostly wonderful, even though they are understaffed. I so appreciate those who have a heart for the elderly and their care! There was one incident where I could not find a staff member, and it concerned me that no one was within ear shot of the residents for an extended period of time. This turned out to be a wonderful nurse aid who got held up in a resident's room with shower and cleaning her bed clothes. Again, the understaffing issue. All in all, I would definitely recommend Gabriel Manor for the assisted living service!
