I am extremely disappointed with the level of care my mother received at Garden Estates. The staff failed to administer her blood pressure medication as prescribed, which is a serious oversight in an assisted living facility. Even more concerning, they never informed me that she had refused her medication prior to surgery, a critical detail that should have been communicated immediately. Due to this issue, my mom was not able to have her surgery and was admitted to the hospital for elevated blood pressure. She is still in the hospital. When I contacted the director she was very dismissive and stated “We cannot read minds in regards to her needed medications.” I pay this facility to administer all her medications so how do they not know that this is a needed medication? I also find it ironic that in the same dismissive attitude she stated that they are notifying me of my mother’s discharge. They are giving me 30 days to remove her from their care. Does this seem like a facility who takes ownership of their mistakes? Instead she argued with me over the phone and stressed me out while my mom is in the hospital due to their negligence. Proper medication management and clear communication with family members are essential in elder care, and unfortunately, this facility fell short. I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate care for their loved ones. ⸻ Let me know if you want to adjust the tone!

A Wonderful Place for My Mother’s Final Year My mother spent the last year of her life at Garden Estates, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for her. The staff was absolutely incredible—they treated her with kindness, respect, and genuine care every step of the way. Although my wife is the Executive Director of Garden Estates, this review is being written as my mother would have shared it, and it comes from the heart. My mother cherished her time in the activity room, where she became affectionately known as the “Puzzle Lady” because of her love for puzzles. She also enjoyed the friendships she made with both residents and staff. The real goal for us was to ensure my mother could enjoy her life to the very end, and Garden Estates made that possible. The warmth of the community and the dedication of the staff made her final year full of joy, dignity, and connection. I will always be grateful to Garden Estates for making my mother’s last chapter a happy and fulfilling one.

Please don’t send your loved ones here. My mother lived here in 2022. It was a horrible experience for her. The food was disgusting and inedible. I complained several times about it, and was met with excuses that corporate chose the menus, etc. The quality of the food was so poor it made her stomach upset. It was dirty, with stained carpets and roaches in her room. If you will notice all of the good reviews are from 4+ years ago. It was a different place before this new corporate company bought it. I moved my mom to Brookdale Trinity Towers where she pays $700 less a month and LOVES it there! The food, staff and accommodations are all wonderful! SO happy we moved her out of Garden Estates. What a nightmare!

My dad is resident here. Most of the staff is very friendly and professional. The environment is nice and well kept. Where it seriously lacks is in the area of dining. They’ve gone through several cooks in the short time we’ve been there, food is well below average, and the girls working in the dining room (with the exception of 1 or 2) are terribly rude to the elderly and their guests. They don’t smile, they never greet, and they seem quite bothered when you ask them for something. It makes me sad for the residents. Doesn’t seem to do good to express these concerns as nothing changes when you do. How hard can it be to hire friendly people who smile and pleasantly engage with the residents ? They are after all, paying quite a bit to live there and certainly deserve to be treated as though this is their home and not like they are at some restaurant with grumpy workers. The food itself is just not worth what we are paying. Got uncooked chicken one time! And had to help another poor resident who didn’t even know she was eating raw fish! My dad has his caregivers cooking for him because the food is substandard.

Garden Estates is a happy place. My mom enjoys living there. Her new, good friends are a happy bunch too. Food and activities are excellent. The building and grounds are lovely and well maintained. Those who work there are kind and patient.
