I was introduced to this mom & pop care home when my mom had an emergency and could no longer live at her prior board & care. From the moment I met Josephine, the owner and caretaker, her warm presence and smile and straightforward communication, and authenticity I knew I was in the right place where I could trust my mom would be cared for during her last years. All of the caretakers are kind, considerate, and work with the family’s request to the best they can. Our mom had dementia and some other health issues and she was quite scared of being touched due to a fall. Julius was her main caretaker, we love him and all the caretakers including Josephine’s daughters: Joann,, Desire, and all the othercaretakers; Milaa and the others who are all amazing, helpful, kind present, andcommitted to doing the right things and caring for my mom often. They even connected me to resources to pay for board & care in Santa Clara County. I highly recommend Gardenia Homes 1!

we put my husband there about a year ago. He had had two strokes Alzheimer’s and was very hard to deal with. Josie and Julius and all the staff have done everything to help him live through this horrible disease. Not only that they have been such a comfort to our family. I don’t know how well ever thank them. Their facility is like a home, not like a sterile and quiet place. Patient talk to each other. they watch TV together they eat together. Josie walks by gives them a little hug or pat. It’s like a little family the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. my husband now smiles and laughs watches TV and has actually been very happy. There’s ups and downs, but this is Josie never gives up.

My mom has been here with Josie and her staff since day 1 of Josie taking over when it was Marquez. Marquez owner was just as awesome as Josie is when it comes to caring for my mom. The staff is kind caring patient and understanding. They will work with someone who has dementia and or Alzheimer's better than a fancy memory care facility. The house is always clean and they provide all meals for their residents. I was referred here when it was Marquez, stayed when it became Gardenia Homes and have also now referred someone I know family member here myself as I highly recommend this home. They work hand in hand with hospice and also help guide you if your family member needs hospice help. They always make sure my mom got out of bed daily washed and kept her entertained . During the holidays decorated nice and it's one big family there. Other residents'families pitch in to help or do stuff at the home also like bringing food for all or taking a resident to the store if they need to. Putting my mom here was the hardest but yet best decision I made for her care. I get updates every time I visit by the staff and Josie is just a text or phone call away if I'm curious how my mom is doing day to day. I appreciate each and every single one of the staff and you won't regret putting your loved one here to live and be cared for if that is what they need. My mom had refused to shower when she lived at home but I'll tell you Josie and her staff just know how to get her to shower without a fight. I have even gotten to know the other residents there and always say hello or chat with them when I go see my mom. My mom shared a room with another lovely women and they get along perfectly. I was afraid my mom wouldn't adjust but she adjusted fast and as if she had been there the whole time. Moving her there in early 2023 and leaving her there when it changed hands was still the best choice for her. All the staff and Josie are family to me and always have the best interest in my mom's well being.

My 95 year old mother, Doris, recently broke her hip. She was in rehab after surgery for a month, then needed additional care to get stronger to live on her own again. She needed an assisted living place, and that's when she went into the care of Gardenia Homes. They were the best place for my Mom, and felt so lucky to find them. It's a home atmosphere with the most loving and caring people. Josie the owner is amazing and very supportive. Julius and all the caregivers in the house were so loving and attentive to all of my Mom's needs. We recommend them highly for anyone looking for a place for their loved ones who need care.

In 2023 after several health issues our father was unable to live on his own. What started as one of the hardest decisions to make, moving him into an assisted living home, turned into one of the best choices we have made for him. Gardenia homes has become family to us. A clean, safe, and most importantly comfortable place for our dad. The staff is very kind and welcoming, and the residents know they are cared for beyond their everyday medical needs. They are loved. My family knows every resident and what their favorite hobbies are because from the second you walk through the front door, you walk into a senior social circle. The residents and staff are friends and can’t wait to tell you about the book they read, movie they watched, or just to hear about your day. Every holiday the house is beautifully decorated so that the residents never miss a holiday, even those unable to leave the house. This year on my dad’s birthday we walked in to find a beautiful banner and balloons that the staff had hung for him above his chair so that he felt special. Those who are able and want to, eat meals together around a large table often times accompanied by music and singing or talk of “what’s for dessert”! The level of connection and friendship between the residents is unmatched. We often get text updates on days we can’t make it for a visit, and knowing that we can stop in or call and check in on him at anytime is beyond reassuring. Gardenia homes does not just have residents, they have a family.
