Update: Things have gotten much better at The Gates House. I do my Moms laundry, so no disappering clothes anymore. Mom has been there close to 9 years. I wish they kept a better eye on patients and their belongings. Mom had soaked through to her pants. Moms glasses and dentures are still missing and not replaced, after a year. Also her 4 pair of jeans, bedspread, pillow and various other clothing items are still missing.

My Dad has been here 1 month, and his clothes stay missing. He has spent more time in the hospital than he has there. He had a bad rash that no one saw until I pointed it out. Dad was sent out this past Friday, around midnight to the hospital. We were told because he was doing his usual, which is become unresponsive. But the hospital informed us that the paperwork stated he had mental issues. My Dad suffers from dementia and is in the memory care section. The hospital was going to send him back, but someone from Gates House told them they wouldn't take him back. That the hospital needed to admit him and fix him. That's disrespectful and uncalled for. I wouldn't place a mouse in this place to be cared for. Stay far away.

We have had church family, 5 or more, at different times at this Facility. We would drop in unannounced to make visits and the facility was always clean. The Staff were caring, professional and eager to educate and help family members adjust to their loved ones living away from the family.

On behalf of our family we want to sincerely thank you all for the kindness and care you have given to our father. Sharon and all her staff are to be congratulated on their compassion and willingness to help make each day a good one for their clients.

The nurses had no concern for any of their patients. Patients would ask for help and the nurses would just look at them and yell at them. Random other patients were allowed to enter into the rooms and harass other patients. Even after the staff, both nurses and administration were addressed in regards to this, no corrective action was never made. Which, in return, resulted in a patient being pushed into the floor. This resulted in a broken hip. Once checked out at the hospital, the hospital staff notified us about numerous large bruises on her body as well as bruised fingerprint marks in her arms. Gates House did not return calls or address concerns until after the patient was removed from their premises. If you deeply care for your loved ones, do not send them there. They will not care about your loved ones and instead, be cruel, mean, yell and deprive them of things that they ask for. Such as tylenol or their personal items that are held behind the nurses station for each patient. For this to be a new facility, their reputation has already ruined them.
