Gateway Gardens is NOT a memory care facility. Shouldn’t be considered for dementia patients. They do NOT monitor location for protection! Please be aware of this before you leave your loved one here. My husband wandered away, crossed 4 lanes of traffic on HWY 281 , and was thankfully picked up by a kind Christian man who - used my husbands phone & called me, then returned him to the facility- who didn’t even know he was gone!!! Just want people to be aware. Lynn Tannehill In response I stand by my review. Your business is linked to memory care. YOUR employee (Letti ) told me herself that your front desk was monitored and that my husband could not get out, without being let out. Your business knew he was a dementia patient. It’s in the files. We are fortunate he wasn’t killed!

I highly recommend Gateway Villas and Gateway Gardens when the time comes for your loved one to transition to a care facility. The staff is very courteous and professional. They treat the residents with dignity and respect. My mother has received excellent support regarding her care, safety, and medical needs. In addition, I have found the staff to be proactive in their communication with me and prompt in addressing any questions that I may have. I also appreciate the fact that the staff is welcoming during visits and go out of their way to include family members during special events and programs.

We have been very pleased with the surroundings and the care provided to my mom over the past few years. She has a number of mental and health challenges and the staff has been quite diligent and understanding in helping her deal with them on a daily basis. Gateway offers tiered levels of care, up to and including assistance with basic daily hygiene and medication management. Having access to an on-call medical professional is a big plus for us, saving us significant time and effort when medical consultation is needed. Gateway provides a variety of daily activities -- both physical and mental -- designed to keep the residents active and engaged, from visits by therapy pets to "rhythmic drumming" exercises, to art projects, and a lot more. I expect these activities to multiply once reduced COVID precautions allow more freedom to bring outsiders in for things like musical programs. The physical surroundings are pleasant and well-maintained; the rooms are continually upgraded (for example, granite countertops and dark wood cabinetry are the norm). The staff goes all out in decorating for holidays, making for festive surroundings. In summary, we feel very fortunate in finding a facility for my mom that offers these kinds of services and benefits. My mom seems content and happy with her surroundings, even if she no longer has the ability to articulate that, and that's what we all want for our loved ones.

We toured almost a dozen places before we chose Gateway Gardens for Mom. We are delighted with Gateway! Mom loves Gateway for so many reasons. The care staff is friendly yet professional. The meals are just right for her. She loves the food and how pleasant the kitchen staff is at mealtimes. She enjoys the choices that are offered. Additionally, in her own words, " It's very comfortable living here. I love that there are no strangers here. They help me keep my place clean, and everyone is ready to take care of every thing I need. " As her child and caregiver, that means so much! So many thanks to so many people, too many to list, but starting with Executive Director Abra Kent, for creating an environment that is respectful, comfortable, professional, and best of all, feels like home to mom!
