If you are reading this post you might benefit from a saying sailors have when evaluating upcoming weather changes: “If you think it might be time to reduce the sails, it is time to reduce the sails!” So too when considering senior lifestyles: “If you think it may be time to consider moving to a CCRC, it is time to consider moving to a CCRC. So, don’t put it off. In evaluating your options, however, do not think only of what you will be giving up by moving to a CCRC (e.g. home and yard maintenance; daily meal preparation; long waits for medical appointments; accumulated “stuff”) but consider also what you will be gaining by moving to a CCRC (e.g. maintenance-free housing; delicious meals; on-site health care; varied physical and intellectual activities) plus you will be gaining a supportive and caring community of new and interesting friends. So, take it from a sailor who decided to move ashore at a beautiful and secluded campus on the shores of Annapolis’ Gingerville Creek, Ginger Cove is well worth your serious consideration – now. I have lived here for just a year and a half, but my connections with Ginger Cove go deeper. My mother and father lived here, my father-in-law lived here, and I served six years as an outside Director on the ALC Board of Directors. I thus have experienced Ginger Cove for many years from both the patient-care side and the business side. It is an established, independent, and well-run nonprofit community with a skilled and caring staff and a talented management team. Whether you are a socially inclined couple seeking interaction with other residents (like my parents), or a single resident preferring solitary pursuits such as reading or listening to music (like my father-in-law), you will fit in and feel welcomed and valued at Ginger Cove. For me, Ginger Cove has offered comfortable, low stress, living that includes varied and well-prepared meals, apartment cleaning and maintenance, exercise classes tailored to my needs and abilities, meaningful opportunities to contribute to the community, and an introduction to many wonderful people – both residents and staff. When the time comes for short- or long-term health care, I know it will be provided in comfortable surroundings by a caring staff. And one last thing: I rest better at night knowing that I am not a daily burden on my children, and they rest better at night knowing that I am well cared for. It’s a win-win proposition. So come and join the fun at Ginger Cove.

My husband and I signed up for Ginger Cove at Home last Fall and are so happy we made the decision! We are not ready to leave the home we have lived in for the past 25 years (at least not yet) but realize we are getting older and may need help at some point. Now we know that whatever happens we will be taken care of. You can’t put a price on that peace of mind! Many thanks to Sam for helping us through the process and providing us with such a high quality experience! I can’t say enough about her attention to every detail. We are enormously grateful that this continuing care at home opportunity exits in our beloved home town of Annapolis! Thank you Ginger Cove!

As the inaugural members of Ginger Cove at Home my wife and I are delighted to be part of this wonderful, vital community. We were offered a take home Valentine’s Day dinner that was beyond fabulous! We look forward to more interaction with Ginger Cove!

I have been at Ginger Cove for almost five years and it was the best move I ever made. The residents are kind and supportive, interested in all kinds of activities. I can be as social as I want or retreat to my beautiful little apartment. And I can watch OTHER people shovel snow!!'

I visit this facility often and over the last two weeks in my observation i saw a few major concerns on the 3-11 shift in memory care. I've been noticing that there's been only two employees in this unit, and although both young ladies are always welcoming, and very pleasant i still have some major concerns, being that im a registered nurse myself. I'm writing to express my concerns about the facility caring for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's in memory care. Specifically, I'm worried about the staffing levels and whether they're sufficient to provide proper care and ensure resident safety. From my observations, it seems like the facility is understaffed, which can lead to neglect and accidents. Residents aren't getting the attention they need, and it's affecting their well-being. I've noticed instances where residents have gone without assistance for extended periods, which is unacceptable. Having only two employees on this unit is unsafe. One CMT and one Care Team Member? I understand that caring for dementia and Alzheimer's residents requires specialized care and attention. I urge the facility to prioritize staffing and training to meet the needs of its residents. This includes providing enough staff to assist with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring a safe environment. I'd like to see a plan of action to address these concerns and ensure the facility is meeting the required standards for care and safety. Can you provide information on the current staffing levels and how the facility plans to improve resident care? While not overworking the employees whom are present.
