Every nursing facility has its hardships the people that work directly with the residents at Gold City care and try hard for the most part you will always have Kit Kat employees that are always in break but the ones that care do so with their heart they are not just there for money because we don't make any in this line of work. Is it perfect no but I haven't seen a long term care facility that is

Do not place a loved one in this facility. Medications will not be given , wound care will not be provided (wounds not even being washed, just wrapped in plastic for months), the meals provided will be infrequent and will not meet dietary restrictions, the maintenance requests ignored, theft on multiple occasions, and even a simple act of changing sheets will not occur, but insurance will be billed for every service that will never be provided. We were there through all of it, imagine what happens to the residents that don’t have people coming in to look after them. Listen to the rumors you thought were exaggerations. Read the reviews from the former staff. There is one nurse that tried tirelessly to help, but she cannot be everywhere all of the time. The administration is absolutely horrible. None of this is an exaggeration. I can and will provide documentation of every issue that occurred inclusive of photos. Pray that this place is shut down.

This is by far the worst facility i’ve ever stepped foot in. Food , meds , and supplies are extremely late if not completely inaccessible. Staff and nurses lack compassion. More than half the beds / remotes don’t work. They’ve also had several lice , roach , and bed bug out breaks. Turn over rate is through the roof. I’ve watched staff cover up falls , meds that are docked as passed but in fact not , facility take unprofessional short cuts. Also one of the worst facilities with cna to patient ratio , obviously resulting in patient neglect. The food is absolutely disgusting, 1-2 hours late and so repulsive i’ve watched many patients loose weight from not wanting to eat it. The drama here is equivalent to zeus tv if not worse. The bald dinosaur sonia nurse is a bully , too old to be arguing with !

I couldn't respond to the negative review for Rita Fowler so I have to put it here. I came up there on my day off, Saturday and spoke with you about your concerns. I provided you with a wheelchair and explained to you that the therapist there was an assistant and can not evaluate your father in law. The puppy that he was showing a resident was when he was leaving for the day and he had permission as it helps certain residents, as this was explained to you. The patients wife, your mother in law, has been very pleased with his stay and his therapy progress. Furthermore, when I was there Saturday, nursing went above and beyond to address your concerns. I am sorry if Gold City did not meet your expectations. But I can assure you the care that all our patients receive from the therapy department is world class and the nursing department is top notch. I have been a nurse for over 30 years, most of my time was in long term and rehab care. I received a call from MIL about the condition she found our father in. I immediately called nurse on duty and requested father cleaned, dressed and up in chair. It took way over an hour and a half to get a chair for MIL to sit down. It took 2 hrs for them to come and get family member dressed after requesting. Father is here for rehab, I was told they don’t have any extra wheelchairs for rehab patients. The therapist was walking around facility showing off a puppy instead of doing physical therapy with patients. I wish they had NEGATIVE 4 STARS, I believe that the state needs to shut this horrible place down. Don’t bring your loved ones here!
