GOLDEN SUNSET VILLA SENIOR LIVING

Marisa and the staff were so kind to my husband when he was a resident. Everyone was very patient and professional. His food was adjusted carefully as his needs changed and Marisa communicated with me regularly. I knew he was being well cared for and that meant everything at that difficult time. Golden Sunset Villa was the right place for him to be and I'm very grateful for everyone I met there.

Two years ago we needed to find a place for my husband's 97 year old mother. We had recently lost his 99 year old father and his mom could not live on her own. We checked out many of the local larger senior communities but quickly discovered that they would not work for her because she had the beginnings of demetia and was not very mobile so she could not participate in any of the activites and needed closer attention. We were given a list of board and care homes and Golden Sunset Villa was the 5th place we looked at. We walked in and instantly knew this was the place for our mom. There are only 6 residents and 2-3 caregivers at all times. The home is immaculately kept and the staff is so loving and caring. It seems that they never sit down, as they are always either caring for the residents or keeping the home spotless. The meals are delicious and the atmosphere is peaceful and warm. They make special meals at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter and invite the families to join in the fun. The owners, Mark and Marisa Lu, are very hands on and caring. Marissa was a pharmacist so she has extensive experience and understanding in the many medications that are needed. Her husband Mark is an experienced administrator and is always making sure the home is in perfect condition and compliant with state and federal codes. There is a beautiful backyard that our mother always enjoyed when she was able to sit in her wheelchair. They have a little track that the wheel chair can be pushed around to enjoy all the many flowers and plants, and a lovely patio to use while visiting. The caretakers are amazing. Claudia and Virgie are the BEST! They take time with each resident, making sure all their needs are met. They are the most loving and kindest women, like angels! We feel VERY blessed that our mother is being so well-taken care of in her last phase of life.

Golden Sunset Villa is Awesome! We feel so blessed to have our Mom here . Marissa and Mark and their staff are the most caring people we have ever dealt with. It makes going through this experience easier.

This facility is one of the best. The staff and owners are amazing, caring people who have helped us through the loss of both of our parents, 7 years apart. They genuinely care for their residents and are wonderfully accommodating to the families. I would recommend them to anyone that is in a situation of needing a little extra care than assisted style living has to offer. The lower ratio of care giver to patient makes all the difference.
