This review is well overdue. This place did my grandfather and family very dirty. He had dementia and was stuck in his room the majority of the day with a broken clock. And that’s just the beginning.

My mom was a patient there for 5 years, thought they would get better when they changed names but it got worse, food is terrible, mom stuff is always getting stolen, I have to call in there and tell them to give her a shower, or to change her bed clothes, i clean her room because they don't, no used telling the social worker because she just lies to your face, we recently moved her because in a month and a half she has fallen and went to the ER, I had to call them and tell them to have my mom admitted to the hospital , and this last time was the last , when the hospital tells you to move her it's pretty bad , she was half starved to death and dyhrated, If you care about your love one , I don't recommend this place .

This facility was once regarded as one of the best in the area under the ownership of Good Samaritan. However, following the acquisition by a new company, it has deteriorated significantly. The level of care has declined, and management has proven to be ineffective. Many individuals in management positions are family members, which often results in retaliation when concerns are raised. The facility is frequently understaffed, causing delays in providing necessary care. Residents often do not receive their baths or have their needs attended to in a timely manner. Basic supplies such as bed pads, diapers, and wipes are often in short supply. Meals are consistently served late, cold, and feature a monotonous menu. Moreover, many nurses neglect to assist the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), instead spending time at the nurses' station online shopping. On occasion, residents have to wait for over an hour to receive assistance. The new ownership appears to prioritize profit over the quality of care, which has become increasingly evident. The recent dismissal of the housekeeping and maintenance supervisors has led to a decline in the facility’s physical condition. The building has become unkempt, with stained linens, overflowing toilets, and frequent issues with hot water. Despite numerous reports to management, these issues remain unresolved. There is a high turnover rate, as many staff members leave due to poor management practices. I strongly advise against placing your loved ones in this facility, and suggest seeking alternative care options, whether at home or at a different institution. It is imperative that state authorities intervene promptly.

I love how this place has workers who truly care for their patients. This facility is always clean and the residents are always in a good mood. Their dementia unit (as well as the other floors) is focused on patient centered care above anything else. Staff is regularly trained/educated, and to work there involves having a thorough background check. That makes a difference knowing only the right kind of people is caring for your loved ones.

My Mom has been at Good Samaritan Assisted Living for 4 years and I would not consider moving her anywhere else. The staff are readily accessible if something arises. They do an excellent job keeping family informed and provide several fun family events throughout the year. I feel my mother is in a safe secure environment that has kept her healthier and given her social contacts she would not have has anywhere else.
