The administrative staff at Grace Assisted Living have been wonderful to work with as we prepare to place our mom in their care. They have been responsive, patient, and thorough in answering questions from me and other family members throughout the process. Mandie and the nurse were exceptionally caring and kind, showing genuine compassion toward both my mom and me. Their support has given our family confidence and peace of mind during this transition.

This is my opinion of my mother’s stay. My mother resided in Grace for over 4 years. She was bedridden the whole time. There were employees there that cared about the seniors. There were also many that were rude. Since my mom was bedridden they would walk in and go into her 2nd room that she couldn’t see and call friends on the phone and use her bathroom. We had a TV in the extra room just incase she got sick and we had to stay awhile we could go into the 2nd room and rest. Movies were charged to her account and soccer games so we had to disconnect Dish. One lady grabbed my mom’s arm and said some means things to her. The next day I took a picture of her bruises and turned her in. They started charging her to bring her meals to her room and one month it was over $1,000. After many months of paying outrageous costs I complained and they said they would charge $600 a month. I think they knew a bedridden senior was not going to be eating in there dining room but no one bothered to tell me that they were going to charge so much for it until AFTER we moved her in. Many times my mom told me she wanted to move but she loved her window and back door to see the world and she didn’t want to lose that. When my mom passed away they charged me for full carpet replacement. Mind you THEY were in charge of her housekeeping. If there were stains on the floor, they are supposed to clean them. Don’t blame us that your housekeeping staff failed to keep her place clean. It was their job. When we moved my mom’s stuff out of her room we found 2 dead mice. How do you vacuum a room and miss 2 dead mice? They did compromise on the carpet replacement but I still feel when their staff doesn’t keep the floors clean why is that my mother’s fault? She also had money vanish from her wallet and perfume was gone from her bathroom. I could tell more stories but it would be a book instead of a review.

I must say this facility is beautiful and clean. Very modern and cozy. Unfortunately it doesn't show the lack of management and uneducated, untrained staff that you trust your loved ones to. My father was here for two years. Was told they couldn't take him back after a recent hospitalization. Too much care needed and had been that way for awhile. Management told the hospital physicians that they were doing more than they should and staff were getting hurt transferring him to his wheelchair. Never once did the manage contact his family about this issue. Now that he is moved out I get a huge bill for damages including new carpet. Carpet actually damaged because when they would drain his catheter bag the staff would leave the valve open and urine would spill all over my father and the floor. When I had concerns about a few things I would reach out to the manager and would always get the universal answer of " I will look into that and call you back". That never happened. There is constant staff turn over. Four head nurses in those two years and countless floor staff, which clearly points to a management issue. My father was diabetic and I was told they can meet his dietary needs. He gained 50lbs in two years! They higher uneducated staff to pass out your loved ones medications. On the job training is not a substitute for pharmacology knowledge when you are handling medications. Floor staff did not know patient transfer techniques. If the floor staff called you to report any injuries they were always rude and unprofessional. Amazon packages sent to my father for his supplies were often stolen. I have delivery confirmation but they never ended up in his room. They claim they can transport your loved one to appointments but that is restricted to two days a week for a very small window of time. If you want your loved one to stay here do your research. This place is nothing more than a babysitter service. Every time I have entered the facility management and staff are sitting around gossiping call lights ringing off the hook. They will pass your loved ones medications to them. They will make sure they get to their meals. But absolutely do not expect anything more than that. All for the low cost of $4100 per month This place has great potential but that will only come if they get rid current management and higher educated trained floor staff. I took pictures of my dads room after moving his stuff out. Thousands of dollars worth of damage? What a freaking joke.
