Our family is beyond relieved to have found the housing and services provided by Graceful Living, for our elderly dad. The accommodations and care they provide him on a daily basis have been incredible and unmatched by any other housing options we could find. To be able to have him living in a clean and flexible home setting, with kind, caring people to cook for him and help him with all of his daily needs has been a gift of peace to our family. We know he is getting everything he needs to be comfortable every day, and we can come and go as we please for visits. Arranging for the quality care of an elderly parent no longer able to care for themself is a daunting and often emotional process. Will they be safe? Will they be comfortable? Will they be in good company? Will they be happy? Think of how you would feel if someone were answering these questions on your behalf. After making her first out-of-home move in 2012, our mother (God willing, will soon turn 96-years) began to experience signs of memory failure and subsequently became a resident of Graceful Living in 2016. At first, she resided in their Riverbank, CA location where she absolutely loved the staff and living environment. Always wanting to be “useful,” she was able to participate in several minimal housekeeping activities and remain engaged. On the occasion of her 90th birthday (which was meaningfully celebrated by their wonderful staff), the smile left on her face lasted for days! Her Graceful Living “family” really did things right. In an effort to maintain both exceptional resident care and safety protocols, in 2021 the Covid-19 situation prompted Graceful Living to relocate mom to their Modesto, CA location. Her move was seamless and managed with compassionate care to minimize any disruption a person with failing memory might experience. Since then, her memory failure has worsened and subsequently hospice support has been initiated. We receive regular updates on her condition from caring personnel who remain readily available to both communicate and assist. It gives us great comfort to know that our mother is being cared for by the Graceful Living organization during these final stages of her life and we would, without hesitation, recommend your consideration of their services to address your elderly care needs.
