If thinking of placing your loved one here be careful !!! 1) patient ratio/staff is incidental neglect. patient care not able to be given properly and effectively as most times there is not enough staffing. There are even times when med techs have 4 med carts to themselves. 2) kitchen doesn’t pay attention to residents dietary restrictions; giving food residents are allergic to regularly or people who have an intolerance to stuff 3) have a question? Don’t ask, the buck gets passed to everyone and no one actually gets back to you about an issue or concern 4) smiles…. Long enough to swindle a new hire or a family member 5) residents being charged astronomical prices to eat in their rooms if they chose, on top of what they pay already. trays that are served to rooms and not hot but slightly warm and have to be microwaved in resident rooms. Eat in room = extra charges (per meal) = reheated in microwave 😳😣 6) never enough clean linen to actually clean the residents with the proper stuff 7) those techs who pass meds are given such a heavy load and expected to still do aide work due to not being able to keep enough staff 8) never a good response from residents when asked how the food was

Grand Haven is so lucky to have a place like Grand Pines! Truly the best of the best! This family owned company is from Grand Haven and you can tell the pride and care they put into the community!

One of the most horrible experiences our family has ever gone through. My poor mom was so neglected. It didn’t matter how many care plans we did or how much money we paid they never took care of her. I’ll give you a couple of examples: My mom fell and had a brain bleed after getting dehydrated from an outdoor activity. They were given a three ounce cup of warm lemonade. It as 90 degrees with very high humidity. After two days in the hospital I took her back, showered her and got her ready for bed. Asked the staff to please watch her close for the next couple of days. I arrived back the next morning at 10 am. They didn’t even know she was there. She was never fed or checked on. Another time, which is why she no longer lives there. We were promised if we moved her to memory care they would take great care of her. At some point her medication was stopped, Anxiety and blood pressure. No one was told, doctor or family. A couple of days later her POA was called and told her blood pressure was high and she was weak and not feeling well. . Took her to the emergency room, she was given fluids and sent back. Two days later she fell and had to drag herself to the door to get help. Her pelvis was broken in three places. Because of this horrible place my mother went from being totally independent, needing help with meds and meals to being total care. I could go on and on with the horrible care. Please watch your Loved ones closely. Stop in at all hours of the day and night. This place is nothing but lies. The memory care residents are drugged to the point of being walking zombies. Their activity calendar is a lie. Most of the staff is not trained to deal with dementia. We watched the staff sit around for hours on their phones or watching TV. It’s hard enough to hear that your loved one has dementia, but to have them go from mild dementia to hospice in eight months because of this horrible place is so disheartening. I have reached out twice to the owner and requested an email so that I can forward the horrible experience my mother had with your establishment but have been ignored.

I attended a wonderful Christmas Party with my mother at GP. My mother has been living here a year now! This has been a wonderful place for my mom. She feels safe and well cared for. It gives our family peace of mind knowing she is living in a great home!

We went for their Halloween event and it was great. Everyone there was so nice and the place was clean and well kept. My daughter had so much fun. Thank you for having us.
