Country House of Granite Bay is truly a beautiful and caring community. The staff are warm, professional, and always welcoming, from the friendly receptionist to the attentive manager who goes above and beyond to help families. The grounds are spotless and peaceful, with a lovely creek, gardens, and outdoor seating that make it feel like home. My sister lives here, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the compassion she receives every day.

My family and I toured the facility a couple of times over the last several months. I say a couple of times as we were in denial about needing to move my father to a facility. I must say, the experience from the tours, chatting with the Executive Director, Sales manager and various staff members we were greeted warmly. The most important greeting of all were the golden retrievers as my father had one growing up and seeing them brought back stories I was told as I grew up. We checked out a few places and did our due diligence on choosing Country House based on the interactions. When we had questions about appointments, medications, care or dietary concerns they were all handled appropriately. This has allowed my family and I to have a sigh of relief knowing he’s receiving the care and attention he deserves. Keep up the good work and please express my gratitude to everyone from the kitchen to cleaners and everyone in between.

As difficult as it was to recognize our father needed a higher level of assistance, it was refreshing to find Country House Granite Bay. On paper, they weren't necessarily our first choice. But, upon speaking with the staff, they became the obvious choice. Our initial conversations about the community were reassuring and refreshing. The care given to us, even before our father became a resident, was compassionate and comforting. The staff always say they love our father and he is so charming and makes them smile. I know they make him smile, too. They do their best to have our father out and about and socializing in some manner. The staff also understands the family members need help, too. I always say, "It's new to us, but not new to them." We know our father is in good hands when we are not present. And we can't be present 24/7. Although there are different staff positions (administrative, care giving, meals, housekeeping), each staff member treats our father, and us, like family. And not one of them says it's not their job. They work as a complete team. I've never been told to talk to someone else. The answer is always, "We'll take care of it." It's a very personal and difficult decision to make when your parent needs this level of care. I recommend you give a serious look at Country House before you make your decision.

Making the decision to transition from assisted living to memory care is a gut wrenching experience. Marisa was so amazing and made it far easier. She spent untold hours holding my hand and guiding me through the process; even when it was talking through the pros/cons of another facility. Kim, Maria and literally ALL the staff are warm, kind and caring. They treat my mom like she is their family. Which is exactly what you want when you are looking for someone to entrust your loved one with. The turn around in my mom and her demeanor since moving to Country House almost 5 months ago is miraculous. They treat my mom with the dignity that she deserves despite having this terrible disease. This has translated into less angry outbursts and name calling which is a huge positive in my book.

The decision to move our father into a home was extremely difficult but after touring several places we chose Country House. The facility, meals and pricing were all to our satisfaction but what has put them over the top is the level of service and compassion they have for both my father as well as us. As tough as it is watching a loved one go through this I am so appreciative of the staff for the love they show my dad. Even in his darkest moments they are patient and reassure all of us that it’s the disease not the person. Kim the executive director is really more of a care giver and is there with any questions or concerns!!! Picking a place is so personal but I would encourage anyone looking to stop in and check CH out. We feel like they are part of our family!!!!
