BEWARE: Managed by out of state corporate office. Exec. director is changed out at least twice a year and right now, they don’t have a director. No nurse on staff either. Med techs are incompetent and make frequent mistakes handling medications, but there’s no one to report this to. Staff turnover is high, so it doesn’t provide consistency and security for the residents.

My mom has lived at Greatwood at Sugar Land for over 6 1/2 years. There have been many changes during that time and certainly there have been ups and downs. My mom recently needed extra care when she was being discharged from the hospital to return to her home at Greatwood. I asked to meet with the new Executive Director, Ventura Gutierrez, who has been with the company for quite a while, but was brand new to the Greatwood Community Ventura met with us with very short notice and helped to guide us as to what next steps needed to be taken to accommodate her return to the community and to properly care for my mom and for her safety. He took swift actions in finding resources for us and accommodating a move from the second floor down to the first floor. Ventura showed great compassion and concern for my and my mother‘s needs. The entire staff rallied around us, too, as they had come to know my mom and wanted to do everything they could to help her acclimate back to her home. My mom has always said over the years that she’s very happy at Greatwood, and as recently as today, she expressed those same feelings.

Well, my mother lived here for a year. The first 6 months were fine. Really sweet and caring people in all aspects of the facility. A huge change happened. 100 % down grade. It's so sad because this facility could be a gold mine. I moved my mom there because I live in Greatwood and it's 1 mile from my home. Many of the Greatwood families are going through changes in our parents. I started to notice the food changed. It became horrible. Mainly sandwiches and chips for meals. Not at all a healthy plan for our senoirs. The maintenance man and bus driver was serving the food. I just think that's unacceptable. No kitchen staff?....Another issue was the Medication dispensing, they started charging an extra 250$ a month to administer my mom's meds. In our lease it say assisted living med dispensing is included . It just became to much. I still know residents there and I worry for their well being. One care taker for 18 residents is just unacceptable.

Thank you so much to Rose, the activities director for making my grandbabies so happy today. We went by to visit dad for Easter and even though the Easter Bunny wasn’t officially supposed to be there until 1:00 PM she put on that bunny suit for the kids! My grandson was so excited because he said this bunny talked. She even gave him a bag of candy!
