HACIENDA MISSION SAN LUIS REY, THE

Sooner than anticipated, my Mom needed assisted living. Thank goodness we heard about the Hacienda! It's only 2miles from my house and is magnificent. Kelaiah Erickson and Nenette Limcumpao in Sales were extraordinary. It's been an anxious time for me and they took such care making sure I got exactly what my mom needed.

What a beautiful place. Nanette showed us around. She is so in tune with what the resident needs and really seeks to learn what they envision for their future years. She is an absolute gem and the facility itself is quite amazing. The clinical staff is paramount and incredibly kind.

HACIENDA My wife and I moved to the Hacienda a year ago, and have NEVER regretted it. I am truly grateful for finding this “forever home”. We lived most of our lives in Northern California near Sacramento, but when our daughter moved to Oceanside, we began looking for a retirement community near her because we are both in our eighties and meal preparation, home maintenance, and 24 hour emergency services became serious concerns. We considered just waiting until the circumstances required extra help before making the move, but my experience as an Estate Planning Lawyer led me to recognize the advantage of being able to select a facility instead of being “forced” to choose out of necessity. We looked at more than a dozen facilities before we began to see that the best facilities had a waiting list. Finally, we realized that it was not as simple as deciding to move. It was necessary to find a facility and commit to move when an opportunity presented itself even if we weren’t quite ready to make the move. It turned out to be a good decision. The decision to leave friends and familiar surroundings to move from a “home” to an apartment was hard. The decision would have been immeasurably harder if we were forced by circumstances to make the move under duress. From the first days of living in the Hacienda, we felt at peace with the decision. The food preparation and service have been remarkable. My wife and I have repeatedly remarked during this year that there has not been a bad meal. From the large dining room to the “pizza” kitchen and the formal dining area to the coffee shop, we have enjoyed cuisine rivaling anything available on the economy. The service personnel have been warm and friendly and we know most of them on a first name basis. Activities are posted each day with something going on every hour on the hour. The pool, the pickleball courts, the exercise rooms/equipment are available, but the “crafts” room may be my favorite. There are residents who choose not to leave their rooms for multiple reasons, but we have a small dog and he would not stand still for that conduct. We walk him every day and make use of the private doggie park on the premises. In short, I can unconditionally recommend the Hacienda for senior retirement living in the Oceanside area — best climate in the entire world!!! Bob and Mary Falco

I love this place—it is not only beautiful and new, but most importantly the staff and the residents I met are wonderful, kind and loving. I am on the wait list and can’t wait for the day I can move here. The activities are great!

We just had a wonderful overview of the Hacienda at Mission San Luis Rey. The staff seems fantastic and the facility only 1 year old and in great condition. The decor and architecture are classic and beautiful as befits the historic setting. I look forward to finding out more about this lovely community. Pam, Nenette and Michael are each very impressive as Directors. I will definitely recommend this community and hope to live here one day myself.
