Hairston Home for Adults

My father in law moved to Hairston Home in March 2025 after his girlfriend passed away. He was in fragile health when he moved there but we feel like he received really good care. The staff are all truly kind and caring and worked hard to help him adjust. Unfortunately he has had to move to more skilled care because his health has declined. We wish he could have stayed! The residents are very friendly too and we enjoyed socializing with them. We are very grateful for the time he was there and how well he was cared for.

My grandmother was there for 27 years. I can't imagine the abuse she suffered. She left the place each week trying to get away. If I had been older I would have gotten her away from that place permanently!! I would not recommend this to anyone they mistreat the people, abuse them, this place should be shut down admittedly. There's been seven people that died trying to get away from that place and at the place. Look back to the newspaper in 1998 1999 I just read it. Five people died in one year! What is going on here needs to be looked into by the government and by the people of the community. One gentleman was running to a truck to get away and was struck by the truck and died one gentleman was never found. The hospital is only 1 mi from there I'm not sure who Barbara made is but she definitely needs to be looked at supposed to be a head nurse supposed to be!!!

The place is so nasty and unsanitary! The bathrooms were covered in urine and feces it turned my stomach. The food should be used as pet food. I can't believe they haven't been closed.
