My dad has been a resident since 2016. My dad has dementia and other health issues. They do an amazing job there. I know it’s a tough job dealing with different issues that the residents have but we know he is well taken care of. The check on him and if he has any issues they will call me to let me know. Thank you to all the staff there for doing an amazing job. Especially Ashley who has always goes over and beyond with him and Stephanie and Christina and Loretta. ❤️❤️

I wanted to take a minute and thank the staff here at Hallmark. This place is ran with dignity for the residents first. It's not an easy decision to place loved ones away from their own familiar surroundings. But when you know they are in good hands with a safe surrounding it makes the decision that much easier. Staff may come and go, however, its always in the best interest of the residents. That's what it's all about, loving your loved ones. Thank you!

Adequate UNLESS your senior needs memory care. My mom has Alzheimer disease, we were ASSURED the staff had vast experience with these patients and this could be her home until "the end". NOPE. There are very specific things these patients require to be happy and content. The did do a couple things like dole out her candy, but would NOT do very basic things, like help her with her TV, radio. These two small things would have made all the difference in the world but each time we asked, we were told "sure", but no one helped her. These patients will choose a couple things that can IMMEDIATELY change their mood...for my mother, it was 50's radio songs. We bought a Serius radio, paid for the subscription, set it ALL UP so that all someone had to do was TURN ONE KNOB every day. NOPE....they would not do it. When she hears that music it is like a baby with a pacifier, everything calms down. But the staff was not interested in helping her through her upset times. Then, when she became difficult to deal with (a GIVEN with these patients) the staff freaked out and had NO IDEA how to deal with her! She was TEXT BOOK with her behavior. I have unfortunately been forced to study this disease in depth for the past few years...my mom acted completely normal for this disease, and the management seemed clueless as to how to handle it. Then yep...I stopped paying them. It was a tremendous hardship for my family, we were broke, no government help etc. PLUS the failures of the facility. So they will no doubt reply to this saying I didn't pay. That was a few months at the end until we could figure out WHERE to place my mother, who we were told by Hallmark would be very well taken care of til the end of her life. Other than not understanding the BASICS of senior advanced memory care...the staff was minimal in their involvement. If you can afford it - Holiday Assisted living there in Bakersfield was WONDERFUL. They are top notch, so attentive, and they KNOW how to care for Alzheimer patients. She was VERY HAPPY there. She was UNHAPPY at Hallmark. They are amazing at Holiday, every single staff member gives amazing care, but we got priced out due to my mother's advanced needs. They are expensive. You get what you pay for.
