We moved our mother into Atria in July of 2022, with the expectation that the care and services outlined in the contract would be provided. My mother had daily visitors, and on some days, two separate visits. Within days, it became clear that the facility was not meeting the care and services outlined in the contract. We had two subsequent meetings with management and staff, hoping to see improvement, but we did not. The final straw was a Covid-19 outbreak in the community, during which they misrepresented the number of residents affected and claimed they had followed protocol. We realized we were dealing with a significant breach of trust, and we immediately removed our mother from the community and filed a formal complaint, which was substantiated by DHS. What made this even more devastating was the emotional toll it took on our entire family. Here, we had to remove our mother after a little over 30 days; we had to scramble to find a new placement (adult care home) on short notice, all the while worrying about her well-being. No family should ever have to go through something like that; we relied on what management shared with us (and the contract). What is a family to do when a corporation is deceitful and provides misinformation and disinformation? Our intution was right about this place, less than a month later two residents died due to an accident poisening.

I truly enjoyed living at Atria Park of San Mateo. Some of my favorite amenities were the terrace, bistro, theater, and library. From the friendly receptionist who warmly welcomes every guest and resident, to the dedicated caregiving and dining staff—everyone made my experience special. The activities and events were always well-organized, thanks to Angie and her wonderful team. Angie’s warm smile and genuine care make residents feel welcome and valued. She goes out of her way to ensure everyone enjoys each event. Annelly is a great support to Angie, and together, they make an excellent team! Overall, Atria is a fantastic place to live, thanks to its amazing staff and vibrant community

My mom, who will be 100 this year, has been so happy at Atria. She’s been there over 6 months and from day 1 has been treated with nothing but kindness and care by the entire staff. She enjoys the many activities they offer and is very comfortable in her studio accommodations. The families are welcome to visit anytime and join in on meals and activities if they want. I can bring my dog to visit anytime. My mom loves that. If you or a loved one are in need of assisted living, Atria San Mateo is an excellent choice.

My husband has lived at Atria Park San Mateo for 2 years. He lived in the assisted living building for a year and a half, and has been residing in the memory care facility there for the last six months. The staff at Atria are very efficient and caring. There are a lot of activities for the residents to participate in; along with a movie theater, activity room, library, exercise room, and rooftop terrace. Residents have a great meal menu, in which they can choose different home cooked entrees. All the holidays are celebrated in a very festive manner, and the facility itself is one of the very nicest on the Peninsula. I have been very happy with the decision I made two years ago, to move my husband to Atria San Mateo. A special shout out to Kirk, Paula, Lavender, Angie, Reina, Jethro, Mark, Zach, Nena, Mirna, Irene, Angeli, and thank you to the caregivers, med techs and kitchen staff for all your help and support.

I was a resident at Atria Park of San Mateo for six months and was very pleased with my experience at this assisted living facility while recovering from surgery and regaining physical mobility. The staff is warm, caring, and highly competent. The residents are warm and welcoming and enjoy life and the amenities here. I made many friends at Atria. My living quarters were comfortable, clean, and modern, with nice furnishings. The building and grounds are attractive and well-maintained. Atria Park enjoys an excellent location on the peninsula close to shops and services, as well as the 101 and 92 freeways, yet peaceful. I never lacked for activities to keep me engaged thanks to the many offered - bingo, movies, games, arts and crafts, stimulating outings, a weekly happy hour, and more. The shuttle bus provides convenient transportation for medical appointments and shopping trips. Around-the-clock nurse availability gave me assurance that my health needs could be promptly addressed. The management team is clearly supportive of staff and residents. Nutritious and tasty meals are served three times daily in the dining room. I always felt at home at Atria Park and that staff genuinely cared about my well-being. I would highly recommend this assisted living community to others seeking supportive senior living with compassionate care in a beautiful setting.
