Harbor's Edge

I had my first visit yesterday when visiting family. The place is more wonderful than I realized. The security alone provides a sense of safety. Guests need to check in and have their picture taken. First floor reminds me of a nice hotel. The flower arrangements are real! They offer a theater, activity rooms (pool, ping pong , puzzles etc ). There is also a nice fitness center with a pool and a hot tub. I haven't seen the dining room or library but I am told they have an excellent burger and the library has a variety of different reads. There are different floors depending on the residents' needs. There is assisted living floor , a mental illness floor and retirement community floor. The units are large and customized. The view of the Elizabeth river from the "old" building is gorgeous. I do know they have medical and physical therapy on site too which is very convenient. I've only heard good things about the quality of care. So far I am very pleased with where my family is going to be living out the rest of their many years. I will be visiting often. Lastly, it is very convenient that Dumar's and Orapax are so close. Highly recommend dining there!

I have lived at Harbor's Edge for five years and am very happy here. The staff is extraordinary , the food is exceptional, and the community is friendly and caring. All of the apartments have interesting views. Transportation is provided to the many cultural activities such as theater, symphony, opera and museums. My calendar is loaded with fitness classes, lectures, and day trips. It is easy to make friends at happy hour, dinner, and community events. In summary, it is a terrific place to live.

Harbors Edge is now my “forever home” and I am blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful residents and staff. It is like an extended family in a small town…with all of the staff being our nieces & nephews!! My husband and I moved into Harbor’s Edge in March of 2022. Sadly, unexpectedly, he passed away 1.5 years later. I could not be more comfortable living here, as well as feeling safe and well taken care. I am surrounded by so many wonderful folks, with all of my needs met. I am most grateful we made the decision to move here when we did as was my husband. He knew he was leaving and I was in a good place…

We moved here a year ago after a two year search for a CCRC they met our needs. We love it here and congratulate ourselves regularly on moving from Florida to the Edge. The place is beautiful, the staff and services are wonderful, the food is great, needed services are readily available, the views are amazing, the residents are welcoming, and, to address a few of the reviews, there is lots of parking for residents. I even walk to some doctor appointments and we love the light rail that stops in our backyard.. We couldn't be happier.

We moved to Harbor's Edge in July 2021 and could not be happier. The amenities are excellent, and the staff is nonpareil. Our community consists of an eclectic group of highly successful and social citizens. Norfolk offers excellent opportunities for myriad activities including sports and the arts. As a retired military member, the access to DOD facilities is a plus for us. My advice for anyone considering moving to a community like Harbor's Edge, "Sooner is better than later!"
